Out of interest, which school "near Newbury"? Wondering if it's still here.Yes, being at boarding school between Aug 1973 and June 1979 made me miss some of Blades matches so I wouldn't be able to describe the goals we scored unless I saw them on tv.
I missed seeing us beat Arsenal 5-0 in Sept 1973 as I was in my second week at school (near Newbury) and it would have been nice if I saw TC sitting on the ball moment to erase the memory of seeing Alan Ball sitting on the ball in that 5-0 defeat in January 1972
I think he played a home friendly against Seville.I was thinking before 1st of August but I realize that he would have played in pre season matches
Bradford had a decent team in those days and were going for promotion to Division One. I'm guessing Paul Tomlinson would have played in goal for them that day.26th March 1987 was a Thursday so no fixtures.
We did however play two days later, a 2-2 draw at home to Bradford City if Silent Blade can shed some light on that?![]()
Mary Hare near Snelsmore Common. Yes, it is still thereOut of interest, which school "near Newbury"? Wondering if it's still here.

I'm ashamed of you dadDon't remember some of the matches in the 1980s. I was a part-timer then
Good !
Now lets get rid of the other morons that seem to blight our away days !!
'kin 'ell
it's Banno from BM.
Don't condone but won't condemn - I wasn't there so I don't know the circumstances surrounding the incident. What I do know is the legal system is a joke and this bloke might have had to plead guilty as legal aid was denied him and he might not have been able to pay for his defence. What I am saying in a roundabout way is that not everyone found guilty has actually committed the crime for which they are charged.
Good !

I nominate Darren Deadman. He ruined an away game for us earlier in the season.
A whistle blower...Who's he ? An alechucker ??

I am shocked. I feel the same way I did when I found out that Milli Vanilli didn't really sing on their records.Don't remember some of the matches in the 1980s. I was a part-timer then
What?Milli Vanilli didn't really sing on their records.
Yep and Boney M's manager did their vocals, Rasputin never had the same feel after that news came outI am shocked. I feel the same way I did when I found out that Milli Vanilli didn't really sing on their records.

Foley and Morris. 9,679 attendance. Clegg of City sent off. Not Nick.
Played at home vs Blackburn following week and stuffed them 4-1. Dempsey got 2, Kennedy and Foley the others. Kennedy after a long 50 yard run. Only 7,762 turned up.
I now know why there are so many shops in Sheffield selling anoraks and kittens.
They do weddings at their other school at Greenham Common - Mrs Newbury Blade (who is in fact a Liverpool fan) and I got married there. Have met staff from both schools and they are lovely. Hardly "posh boarding schools" either, although we do have plenty of them round here.Mary Hare near Snelsmore Common. Yes, it is still there
