People who think we’ll stay up

Be no point supporting United if there wasn’t some tinted optimism. If I was as downbeat as some, i’d have jacked it in years ago and done something else. Life is too short.

Poster asks for reasons for not being a negative as him. Ignores all posts which reply in good faith while focusing on those calling him a WUM or Pig or that match a more negative outlook.

Its quite simple to conclude from that how genuine his OP was.

There was exactly the same mood on here this time last year.

No new kit.
No new signings:
Everything is shit.

I don’t know why but everyone expects us to sign 10 players on the day the transfer window opens. There is plenty of time yet.

Can I just ask what you’re basing that on other than pure blind faith?

I’m not generally the type to admit defeat before a ball has been kicked in anger but fuck me we are making it difficult to think any other way.

So far we’ve resigned 2 players we shouldn’t have who would struggle to get minutes at most championship clubs and have given a new contract to what should be nothing more than a squad player.

We are linked with random players from Scandinavia for pittance and just seem in a rather large pickle generally. Keep seeing rumours about Ndiaye being off which doesn’t help.
Generally it’s not too promising and not too positive, we just seem to be looking at taking punts rather than making any meaningful attempt to stay up.

And on the pitch if this side isn’t improved upon it will be a very bad showing as our form vs our peers post-Christmas showed. We lost every game we played against the teams around us. Management have to hold their hands up to that too and be better as we know.

I’m wanting to have some faith instilled in me from somewhere, so please feel free to hit me with both barrels.
The odds are against any promoted side, but it’s far too early to tell how we will do. We have no idea who will be in the squad come seasons start or the end of the window.

Last season there wasn’t much we needed in the way of signings, and luckily we had Ndiaye stepping up like we never believed possible.

This season we need plenty to have a chance of staying up, and not to mention just about everyone out of contract in 12 months.

It’s apples and oranges.

For what its worth I agree with the OP but I've learnt to keep my head down about this sort of thing after this 🤣

Obviously we haven’t got the funds to sign established PL players so it’s either look abroad and buy prospects for less money or pay more for prospects in the EFL. I think bulk of our loans will be out of the PL. Like people say wait till end of the window then can asses properly.

Definitely, in fact I'd go so far as to say I think we'll break Arsenal's invincible record.....

Balanced feedback is important

I said the same about Bournemouth after their first 5 games, poor squad, lost them all.

Finished closer to top half than relegation.

We've just come off the back of a fantastic season. We get to see our team pit themselves against some of the best teams in the world. Yeah we may get relegated, but these are surely the good times.

As a Celtic supporter, I/we can relate to the above.
Taking into account we're in the Champions League, but our record is abysmal to be straight to the point.
We may not qualify for the knockout stages, we may end up in the Europa League, but as BrisBlade says,
"these are the good times"..... and they certainly are.

We can stay up, it's just the odds are stacked against it. Having said that, if we can perform to our best most weeks and a couple of clubs do a Leeds/Everton/Southampton then we will.

If we keep Ndiaye and Berge and Hecky gets a bit of luck, then with a bit of squad freshening up, I think we might surprise a few of the pundits

If the home form holds up, we stop up 🙂

😂😂 yeah I’m a pig, caught me red handed. It’s a bit of a boring retort when someone is perceived to be ‘negative’ that they’re a Wednesday fan.
Perceived????. Re read your opening post.

Yes. I think we will stay up.

I could explain why I have come to this conclusion, but I can't be arsed to try and educate pork.

Important to say what you think, if you’re wrong fuck it who cares? No one likes a fence sitter

Yeah, if you have negative thoughts on a football club you support their direct rivals. That’s how it works.
Your previous bollocks about us has been quoted all over here.

You’re a pig. 👍

Don’t cry mate
Yup that’s definitely the take away from it.
Way to prove the point especially given the post wasn’t even to you. Pig or WUM, does it matter, it’s not like they’re mutually exclusive?

A realist would wait until the transfer deadline before spouting fury.

This

For clarity your calling us as down with 52 days of the transfer window to go?

For the record our recent signings….
Anel - 6 July
Doyle - 4 july
Mcatee - 4 aug
Khadra - 26 july

MGW - 31 aug
Houriane - 30 aug

Brewster - 2 oct
Rammers - 19 aug
Wes - 27 july

As we can see the vast majority of our summer signings happen later as the process filters down

if we are still in this state come mid Aug then I will share your pessimism

Till then gi thi head a wobble and lighten up you miserable fucker😂😂
