People turning on the team

Before lockdown he said passion, effort and giving it everything was the minimum expectation.

Exactly and he said just now that he doesn't think he is getting it from some of the players.

We were on top of nothing. We had a couple of short periods where we were doing ok. Actually getting around their penalty box. Probably less than 10 minutes. We certainly didn't force one save out of their keeper. We did have one shot on target, which deserves celebrations. I don;t expect to beat Man U, but I expect us to compete and make it difficult. They had a training game today.
You’re entitled to your opinion I just don’t agree with it. I don’t want an argument. I’m disappointed with the result. You just have to look at the 5 subs they brought on any of which we would welcome into our team. I just accept they where better than us that happens sometimes. Move on.

I think most people can accept that level of sensible constructive critism. It's the End of the World stuff that instantly appears when things have gone bad that is unnecessary.

I agree. There are some people who go way over the top either way. Having a pop at some of our players and saying they aren't good enough isn't really fair imo. They are just having a collective bad patch as a team, but the vast majority of our core team is PL standard without a question.

On the flip side, the people who get I a strop because the team is getting criticism are also out of order imo as they can't bare to hear a bad word said against the club or players, even if at times it's justified.

Like I mentioned previously, give praise when it's earned, but also don't be scared to call it out and be critical if they deserve that also. That's how I've always lived my life. No bullshit and say it as I see it.

I think we have a wonderful set of players at the Lane at the moment and they both genuinely care, and are more than good enough. That said, the team deserves the stick it is getting tonight imo as it never competed. That's the disappointment for me.

Can’t say I’m much liking these pickup / practice run outs in desolate stadiums.

I am against the season starting unless fans can attend. Even when you see City turn Burnley over it isn't the same when the canned crowd cheer 2 seconds later after the goal.

I don’t give a shit about the last 28 games, I’m living for now, and the last 3 games have been pathetic.

So you dont give a shit about the majority of the season ?
The first two thirds of the season that saw us in with a shout of Eurpean football for the first time in over 40 years
The first two thirds of the season that has made sure that we have another season in the PL
You blame Moore for goals that he conceded, when the defenders in front of him were not marking their players hes a decent Championship keeper thats why he doesnt play regularly
You really are a tool !!!

It can’t just be me that’s sick of pretty much everything in the world boiling down to two sides of an argument - pick a side and fight the other.

The season before lockdown was brilliant. Even if we didn’t get another win and only stayed up by a few points, it will have still exceeded all expectations (and we will have had a bloody good time for two thirds of it)

However, we’ve been absolutely awful in the last three games; slow, tired, clueless, weak. It’s not all down to the opposition, and just because we would have been happy with 17th a year ago, doesn’t mean we should be happy with a drop-off in standards now, after we got so high on merit.

You can think both things you know...

👍 'most of' the stick they are getting.
Yeah we are used to playing with the cards we've got, and where we've lacked in quality, we've made up for in passion and belief. That is the hardest to see missing. Plus not doing the things we know they can do.
Seasons not over yet....

Shades of Grey mate. All lost in this modern world of swiping right or swiping left / voting in or voting out. Fans always wanting immediate action following a loss.

Plus people always looking for an argument to try to assert their authority as they can't internalize their emotions - they have to pick a fight.

The simple facts are, we're off the pace ever so slightly, have couple of players out, and more than likely we've lost our biggest weapon which is that chip on our shoulders from being perpetual under dogs.

We'll now see how good a manager Tufty is! I have full faith he'll make the necessary adjustments and come through the other side.

- but more importantly, people on here questioning the effort/mindset of the players. I don't buy into that.

I would definitely question the effort/mindset......you can see it when we conceded tonight, they didn't give a shit....only one player, (George) appeared to be upset/angry when Martial scored the first tonight, the rest looked at each other like lost souls, shrugged and trudged back to the half way line....Lunny looked disappointed when he blazed that shot over the bar, as did Oli when he missed the header in the 2nd half.....but apart from that there was none of the usual passion/fight/desire....it's gone, fuck knows why and where but its gone.

And as for Moose, fuck me, he didn't fancy it from the start, takes a slight knock and he's off......Zivkovic looked more interested in the 20 odd minutes he was on. Moose is a shadow of the player he was.

Call it how it is instead of looking for positives in absolutely everything. There are no positives in back to back 3-0 losses. Why can you not admit we’re playing shite? What’s past form got to do with anything?

Nobody is looking for positives we have been poor end of! The fact you actually wrote I don’t care about all the other games just about sums you up!
You know what I can bet there are at least 10 teams who would swap places with us. Why is it our fan base is full of fucking drama queens it’s absolutely pathetic and many don’t deserve this period in our history!

I’ve said my piece on tonight’s abysmal performance, as well as the other two games. What I’ve said is factual. If you don’t want to admit to yourself we’ve played poorly, don’t. Just another deluded fan. Then you bring up the beginning of the season. For what reason? I’m talking about tonight’s performance. So stop talking bollocks. If we play well, I’ll admit it and if we don’t I’ll call it as I see it.

It's okay to say we have been shit, if we genuinely have been shit, you know.

No one's gunna think you are a lesser Blade.

The trick is to call it as you see it. And whilst we have been great for the majority of the a season, for the last three games we have been dog shit. Just say it, you can you know, it is ok to accept that.

If you listen to CWs interview tonight he lands it bang on again. He says we are playing badly at the moment, and we didn't compete or lay a glove on them. He's right. That's what is getting on people's pips at the moment, we didn't compete. Maybe you want to have a pop at CW for saying that as well?
Big difference between saying it how it is and turning on the team. No issue with game by game as you say. I didn’t think the OP was saying that?

The support has been pretty embarrassing to be fair.

Given how far we've come in such a short space of time you'd think maybe the team & the management had built up enough credit in the bank with us & be forgiven for having a few bad games.

But no. Unfortunately it seems large sections of the fan base our imploding. Players who were our heroes are suddenly shit, or unmotivated because they've signed new contracts.
Our new young signings seem to have become the focal point of the criticism, the scapegoats for everyone to bash & write off whilst they're adapting to a level they've never played at before.

Seriously, I wouldn't want to be in the trenches with a lot of our lot. White flags waving in the air. Been too spoilt in recent years, now spitting the dummy because it doesn't look like we're going to challenge for a European spot. Weak as piss.

I think Wilder probably had a dig after the Newcastle game. After tonight I think he's going to get stuck in big time.

If there isn't a much improved performance Sunday I can see some first team players transfer listed.

I turn the sound down and it’s much better. Don’t miss the commentary either.
