People calling for wilder to go…

Millwall are 2nd in form table, Plymouth have only got 9pts away from home all year and have relied on home form, where they’ve beat Liverpool this season and have had a knack of scoring late. Oxford away, a team fighting for their lives with Rowett in charge is never ever going to be an easy game!

Before those games, how many points did you think we’d get out of the nine?

it’s embarrassing to see. We’re 3rd in the table, way higher than anyone expected this year. We’ve had 3 really cruel games and so many fans have just completely spat the dummy out. Who on earth do you think would do a better job with this squad? How totally delusional do you have to be to think this team should be higher than what it is? It makes us look pathetic.
Evening Chris

17.3% predicted automatic promotion.
I mean, that poll was before August. I'd have said mid-table then but we'd not signed Cooper, Souttar, Gilchrist, Rak-Saki, Campbell

I would have said in or just outside the play-offs by the end of the transfer window.

Nope. I expected top 3 but hoped for automatic, based on Burnley having to do a much bigger rebuild than us. I expected Leeds to go up automatically. I didn’t expect Burnley to be as good defensively as they have been & another difference is that they had a better January than us.

Where did you expect Luton to be ?

Given that they finished 10 points above us last season.

Mr Wilder wasn't on the pitch kicking the ball was he?
but it's strange how some of them that are,
suddenly cant stop a pig in an entry or hit a barn door,
init...
Just saying like....;)

Probably struggling to scrape into the top 6. They’d had a meteoric rise, loads of momentum in the early part of the season but recruited badly for the PL and were undercooked compared to the teams that went up with them on the back of previous PL money & parachute payments. They had overachieved to reach the PL, Burnley and us hadn’t. Didn’t expect what’s happened to them this season though, to be fair.

😂😂😂 “cruel games” define cruel?

Cruel implies we were in with a shout, and cruelly lost. Reality is we were absolutely disgusting in every single one, losing to two teams around the bottom of the league, one in and around the play offs.

Who’d do a better job? Here’s three:

Cooper
Manning
Rosenior

We’d be higher. If we hadn’t completely bottled it against the bottom of the league (with the worse defence in the league), another team around the bottom (also a shite defence) and a team in and around the play offs (with players nowhere near ours in quality).

Is it delusion, or truth?
Only time. I've seen you post this regularly is now. We've lost a few and when. We didn't sign. Some. No mark From Wycombe

Bit Pitsmoor Armed Robber there Frank. Superfluous full stops and unnecessary capitalisations.

You’d be shouting “Pig” at anyone else.

Firstly we don’t know what anyone else would do with this squad as we have not tried . The irony is what do we all want here . If we are happy to stay in this division with the standard of performances we have witnessed he’s absolutely the right guy ( I can’t argue I’ve enjoyed the ride ) But if there is a vision for us to be an established Prem club ( think this is the new owners option) with ground developments , world class players he’s not for me . We’ve never had a manager in my opinion who fits that bill . Slav should have but didn’t . Lampard will undoubtedly attract players because of reputation.
Time to choose . What’s it going to be ?

Last time we went up with Wilder we had a style ,an identity and it was a good watch too. That closed season I was laughed at by blade and pig mates for predicting a top 10 finish , just based on how confident I felt about the team and how we played .
This time , even if we get over the line lots are dreading chris at the helm and a repeat of Last season.
If we stay where we are many are not looking forward to a season of uninspiring dull football .

Can't blame people for just wanting to see something different and something that we have confidence in, to move to the next level .
It's a brutal industry . Some people achieve great things in thier work ,and ultimately they become yesterdays man .

I hope with everything we get over the line , he'll be given a shot at the PL but think the outcome will be inevitable.

I don't think anybody would have us higher than 3rd to be honest, or on a higher points tally. How Wilder's achieved that is odd and remarkable. It's something his detractors simply have to concede

But I don't think many would have us playing more turgid football. That we've only won by 3 goals once is also odd and remarkable and points to a very deliberate attempt to stifle flair and entertainment which given the division we're in and the players we have is pathetic

There isn’t another manager we could have afforded who could have done better than Chris Wilder has done this season considering the state the club was in at the start of the season regards players leaving, points deduction etc. He had to build a complete new side from scratch. I for one didn’t expect us to be where we are at this stage of the season and not many did if they speak the truth. 👎

How do you know none of them would? I think Cooper would take it now we have new owners who seem to be willing to spend on the squad.

The owners would need to be willing to spend big given Cooper's transfer record.
Steve Cooper spent 20 MILLION to buy Oliver Skipp from Spurs last August.
Skipp has since managed 7 starts for a struggling Leicester team.
(Even Luke Thomas is getting a start for Leicester these days)

Cooper's football also makes ours this season look like 1970s Brazil. The people advocating Cooper to replace Wilder should be Wilder's agent.
