Insane bloke stays at pathetic joke of a club: http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...ed-pemberton-turns-down-crawley-job-1-4777244
"I have a great relationship with Sheffield United and I am enjoying the work I am doing here," said the former Blades player.
"I felt at this moment it was important to show loyalty because we are trying to build something in difficult times."
Pemberton added: "I'm very flattered but I didn't feel that this was the right time to leave the club."
"I have a great relationship with Sheffield United and I am enjoying the work I am doing here," he told BBC Radio Sheffield. Some nice comments on the SSN website:
Right decision to give him the opportunity to talk (he might at any rate have signed his Academy contract on the basis that the club would allow him to do this). Really nice to see that in spite of the opportunity to manage a team himself, and link up again with Steve Coppell, that he's chosen to stay.

Micalijo - maybe your post was hastily written because you were conerned at losing somebody as valuable as Pembo, which is fair enough. That said, perhaps you could show enough class to admit that Pembo's response to Crawley shows exactly what is required from us all - i.e. to get behind the club in difficult times. How about admitting that things are maybe better than you thought if he's prepared to commit himself to the cause and work with the current hierarchy towards improving things in future. There's a new age dawning for lower division clubs - cuts are being forced and belts are being tightened. I believe that our management still try to make decisions in the best interests of the club as far as is possible given our current financial circumstances and the new rules - and given the contracts that we have to honour. Big Kev re-signing is a massive boost to us - as is Pembo staying. DW is a manager that delivers attractive football and is calm and professional. Let's trust them to get it right this season - and get behind the cub. UTB.
With Danny, Pembo, Frank Barlow and Morgs I think we have a strong management team.
