I know you've just swapped the Beck part, but the hair the birthplace, the passion and the low-key aggression, Peckham is spot on

I would say that sometimes he sells himself a bit in challenges, allowing better midfielders to react and then he is playing catch up.Obviously people haven't seen Beckenbauer play.
He was a central defender but had the intelligence and all round ability to easily play in midfield
His claim to fame was playing defensively but making late runs into the box and scoring goals.
For a defender his goal scoring record was extra ordinary. He was basically an attacking defender, where opposition teams struggled to pick him up.
Beckenbauer was also a leader, captain material with a great winners attitude and work rate.
Based on playing style, intelligence and stamina to play in defence, midfield and attack
.....there are much stronger similarities to Basham when he had that spell playing the overlapping centre back role.
Think Peck has some great qualities, great attitude and still young
Still think his weakness is pace especially without the ball, opposition midfielders seem to dribble past him quite easily.
From my teen days, when a copy of Razzle had done the rounds by the time it got to last man most pages were welded together and would have stopped a point blank shotgun cartridgeCould have been worse. Could have been Razzle
Maybe so, but my first pair of shin pads were of leather, with five vertical pieces of cane in them, which definitely gave excellent protection from the toe end cloggers of those times. So you’ll also know that a shin pad isn’t going to protect you from a leg breaker.
Wish he'd wear proper shinpads - as a combative player , his tibia is at risk.
Same with O'Hare.
Why are we risking further injuries ?
Seems such a farce that there’s a rule stipulating that players must wear shin pads but seemingly no detail as to what constitutes adequate protection. Grealish and O’Hare may as well wear postage stamps for their shin pads (on second thoughts, with the price of stamps these days probably cheaper to get proper shinnies!)Feels like every other player's playing like this these days. Davies as well. Arblaster and Brooks too, I think. McAtee did it as well. And Ndiaye and McBurnie, and so on...
Who started it? Must've been Grealish.
Only a matter of time I think. The moment one of those players with tiny shinpads suffers a leg injury the league will react.Seems such a farce that there’s a rule stipulating that players must wear shin pads but seemingly no detail as to what constitutes adequate protection. Because nobody ever broke a leg whilst wearing shinpads?Only a matter of time I think. The moment one of those players with tiny shinpads suffers a leg injury the league will react.
Of course they don't offer 100% protection and the game isn't as reckless as it used to be. But I've seen enough challenges and tackles where I thought, this could've ended much worse if he didn't wear shinpads.Because nobody ever broke a leg whilst wearing shinpads?
The game has thankfully tried to outlaw those horror leg breaker tackles, rightly so. However, it's not to say that bad tackles don't happen but you're less likely to see leg breaks. In any case, they do still happen but I don't think they protect against the force of a tackle strong enough to break a bone.
They protect against kicks to the shins, but nothing else really.
I've thought for a while that wearing proper shin pads should be mandatory at all levels of football.Of course they don't offer 100% protection and the game isn't as reckless as it used to be. But I've seen enough challenges and tackles where I thought, this could've ended much worse if he didn't wear shinpads.
Pecké?Nah sorry mate, that nickname got retired with Bash.
