Feels like every other player's playing like this these days. Davies as well. Arblaster and Brooks too, I think. McAtee did it as well. And Ndiaye and McBurnie, and so on...Wish he'd wear proper shinpads - as a combative player , his tibia is at risk.
Same with O'Hare.
Why are we risking further injuries ?
Dunno but it's bonky madness.Feels like every other player's playing like this these days. Davies as well. Arblaster and Brooks too, I think. McAtee did it as well. And Ndiaye and McBurnie, and so on...
Who started it? Must've been Grealish.
I don't get it. I play footy all the time and have done for 30 odd years. I wear shin pads, and barely know they are there. But I know about it when someone crops me on the shinsWish he'd wear proper shinpads - as a combative player , his tibia is at risk.

Beckenbauer was a midfielder when he was Peck's age.I appreciate that this was posted tongue in cheek , but the very thought that there is any comparison between Sydie and the great Franz Beckenbauer is a bit much .
The only English defender who could could even be considered to be of his quality is the equally great Joe Shaw , who in certain respects was even better and it still sticks in my craw that he was never given the opportunity to demonstrate this at International level.
It makes them look proper cool just like cutting holes in the back of the socks or wearing headphones bigger than their head when getting off the bus. There's nothing I admire more than a footballer with 3 wonderfully cut holes in the back of their socks.Wish he'd wear proper shinpads - as a combative player , his tibia is at risk.

Hardly de rigueur. 35 years ago on a Sunday morning if you were the last 3 in the kit bag these were the socks you ended up wearing. It makes them look proper cool just like cutting holes in the back of the socks or wearing headphones bigger than their head when getting off the bus. Not really, noWish he'd wear proper shinpads - as a combative player , his tibia is at risk.

It's a shame they ant drawn eyes and stuff so it's look like a man with a balaclava on the back of they legIt makes them look proper cool just like cutting holes in the back of the socks or wearing headphones bigger than their head when getting off the bus. So you’ll also know that a shin pad isn’t going to protect you from a leg breaker.I don't get it. I play footy all the time and have done for 30 odd years. I wear shin pads, and barely know they are there. But I know about it when someone crops me on the shins

In the late 80s, early 90s we weren't allowed to play on saturdays and sundays unless we had shinnies on, the refs would spot anyone with none on before the match started. I remember one lad on sunday, forgot his shinnies and the ref told him to get off the pitch just before we kicked off, he went off and came back 10 mins later with what looked like shinpads on...a bit later as he was running a fcking Sunday magazine cut in half (remember those in the News of the world?) came flying out of his sockI used to play with a couple of copies of the Green 'Un stuffed down me socks.

Jumpers for goalposts… dropping blotter with Jim Hendrix… marvellous.I used to play with a couple of copies of the Green 'Un stuffed down me socks.
It gives some protection though, wearing one is better than not wearing one imhoSo you’ll also know that a shin pad isn’t going to protect you from a leg breaker.
Nah sorry mate, that nickname got retired with Bash.
I used to play in a team with a Spanish lad at Goodwins a few years ago and he'd turn up with carpet slippers down his socks, skill and touch wise he's the best player I've ever played with dont know if that was down to the slippers though.I used to play with a couple of copies of the Green 'Un stuffed down me socks.
