Peck

My fave thing is that Peck is going to get his first league goal away, get sent off for celebrating, and we're gonna sing his name until we finish pissing on a motorway services.

Swansea away, I reckon. I'm going to go 0-3 with Peck brace. Fuck it
A booking each goal?

Was worried the commentator on CBS and the Pompey players might’ve gotten their wish re his challenge at the end. It was a fantastic challenge. Love Peck.

Really pleased for him. The players who can come through from the youth grades into the men’s team and play 90 minutes week in, week out and maintain a consistently high level of performance are the exceptions not the rule. Sydie needed a break big time and hopefully we’ll now start to see the best from him.

He’s better than Choudrey
I’d play him alongside Choudry. Souza is not the same player since coming back (unless nursing his hamstring still) and seem a little unengaged - maybe the JTW rumours of a move back to Brasil have unsettled him. So I’d rather see Peck / Hamsa playing as a close pair of DM’s.

Superb performance from bench
M.o.M performance.

Different kind of player. I'm not too sure we should be playing Souza and Choudhury together at home. Too defensive IMO. Peck gave us that but of difference to mix it up a bit.

I think we mixed O'Hare today too.
Selection headaches incoming for Wilder

Agree that he needed resting, but looked good when he came on.

They are different players because Peck is better, that is the difference.

Hamzas aim is to break play up, he does get a foot in if it happens to come next to him, Peck does that but will also go and make it his and break it up when it doesn’t come next to him. Hamza will go really deep to collect the ball off the Keeper and CBs, so much so that people thought he was playing CB at times today. If he doesn’t get it off them though he strolls about back there with no real desire to get back involved in the game going forward and subsequently leaves a massive hole in the midfield because he’s trotting about with the CBs. Peck also can and does go and collect the ball off the keeper and CBs but his engine makes him stay involved in all phases unlike Hamza. If Hamza does get involved in forward play and say makes a run out wide right which he does now and again that will be him out of the game for the next phase as he trots slowly back, Peck busts a guy to get back to be involved.

Also he trots about passing men on, like he’s day dreaming and not aware of players and their runs so positional can let you down. For instance their goal, he is doing his slow trot towards the wide position for some reason with no real intent to get there, he’s totally out of the game in that phase and they score. He’s the defensive midfielder who should be in the box or tracking runs in the box but he’s jogging there really doing nothing. He is obviously a good player and will get better the more he plays so just giving my observations as he will be a good squad asset but for me Peck is way above him in every aspect.

This is him and the goal, just having a little wander and not aware of the dangers or tracking men when he is the defensive midfielder and should be in the box not jogging about doing nothing. Obviously I’m not saying the goal was his fault I’m just highlighting the wandering and doing of nothing he was showing in abundance today.

I feel Peck influences and helps to change the game when he comes off the bench more than when he is starting at the moment.

Fantastic impact sub just like seriki (this is by no means bashing the player either, just my observation when he's come off the bench rather than starting).

Best player on the pitch when he came on.

Has no business being on the bench. It should be Souza, Chaudery or Davies alongside Peck. First name on the midfield team sheet for me!
Better than Cooper who kept us in the game ? Better than Brewster who setup our winner and narrowly missed a goal ?

Absolutely outstanding when he came on. His energy completely changed the game. He also at least attempted to play on the half turn - something that Choudry and Vini seemed completely incapable of, even with yards of space and about 20 thousand people shouting “time” at them.

Off topic but I thought that was an absolutely horrible display from Choudhary. If he plays for the rest of the year I hope it’s as a right back and not some kind of BS ‘quarterback’ role that there was absolutely no need to play, especially against Portsmouth.

Back to Peck - excellent. He badly needed a rest (completely understandable at his age) but his development has really impressed me this season. Physically looks a beast and, whilst not at Arblaster levels, his passing and technique look solid enough.

If we don’t go up this year, seeing him and blaster as a midfield two (assuming we cash in on Vini and Hamer) is something I’ll really look forward to. Skill, tenacity, will to win, technique, positivity in thought and action, physicality, Pashun. Brooks, Seriki and One will be a year older and wiser as well - wouldn’t be at all upset if we started with all five of them on the first day of next season.
