Have to say, I’m quite liking this get your business done early approach to the JTW.

What Chris. Alan and team have done is a thing of beauty.

Ten plus days to go and we’ve got the bases covered.

All is left now is for Chris to do a bit of selective pruning with those needing game time to tidy up the wage bill.

Taking into consideration Coutts’ injury and the 4 loanees we’ll be sending out, we’re left with 23 including Brooks, Freeman and Evans all on the road to recovery.

It’s a nice number where everyone has a chance to play and squad harmony can be preserved.

I can see Jake Wright being odd man out with Eastwood this weekend.

We can look forward to the panic of the window knowing that we’ve done the job already and Wilder has already put down the marker that Brooks is not leaving.

I’m not even looking for a last minute deal unless there is a terrible injury to a key player and I agree with Chris on CCV. It also allows Basham to settle down for the second half if the season.

It’s certainly a perculier position to be in, but Chris has assembled the options to get the job done now. We can sit back and watch others fritter away needless cash and stress over not being able to do anymore than they could!

Not sure what Alan Knill has done in the actual recruitment and retention, however, he will no doubt have had lots of input into the identification of positions and player qualities we need.

Wilder has mentioned Paul Mitchell (Head of Recruitment) and Carl Shieber (Head of Football Administration) both in the last week and in August

Would like to see Wright on the bench this weekend as he's a natural replacement, but i think with Lafferty we have a more flexible solution if we lose a centre half.

The serenity might be disrupted as the clock tics down to the end of the JTW. We might get hostiles turning players heads in those last few hours.

Still not brought in any blistering pace unless the newbies have it in their toolbox.

Leonard is extremely quick. I know he's not a forward, so won't really be running in behind, but he'll prove to be the fastest and most athletic player we have at the club.

Pace is also supposed to be one of Wilsons' main attributes.

yes, have we forgot the days already, waiting till midnight on the last day to see if we brought in anyone! This again is down to a proper manager. Someone who is doing his job properly. And trying to do his very best for the club, with the money hes got. As he let slip in his last interview, He loves this club. I hope we give him the time to get us success.
