I genuinely think you should write to him and ask him how he feels about what he did at that time.Were you worried that he didn't raise any issues with Marlon King signing for us?
I genuinely think he would say he got that wrong and should have spoken up about the King signing.
I think every pop star, in fact every human, will look back on their actions in the last 20 years and regret some things they did and didn’t do.
I think forgiving people is often a helpful and positive thing to do.
It is almost certainly possible to find a moment where any person in the public eye, at any time in history, has said or done something that is completely out of order.
It seems excessive to me to say Heaton’s misdemeanour of ‘not condemning the signing of Marlon King loudly or publicly enough’ is unforgivable, when put in the context of the general all-round decent character quite a few posters on here have pointed to. He should have spoken out about King. He didn’t. If asked, he’d probably say he should have. It would be odd though for him to unilaterally release a statement about the Marlon King signing now, over 10 years later …
