I was South Stand.
It seemed the pitch people had free access up into stands. But stand people, not allowed onto pitch. def lep was all different price tiers, so that might have been a factor on that day.
The odd thing was, staying seat

I can honestly say as a regular in hull and drink in the grafton his old boozing haunt that nobody has a bad word to say about him. They love him
He put a thousand pound behind the bar on his 60th
I'm back there Wednesday till Monday. I've got 4 tickets for the hull lads I know who are coming over to stay in sheffield. A producer who does stuff and merchandise from Belfast is flying over and stopping at same hotel as me .
I honestly can't wait for the gig it's something I always wanted to see at bramall lane . The pubs around town will be rather busy and on the Paul heaton appreciation site it seems all hotels are going to be full that weekend so it's brilliant for bringing money into the city.

Well said pal and I hope you have a great night. I’ve seen TBS lots of times and they’ve always been one of my favourite bands. Rhiane Downey seems a good addition for Paul as well, although I do love Jacqui’s voice.

I’ve never been to a non football event at the Lane. I would love to if a band I actually wanted to see ever played there.

Exactly, he used the Ched Evans situation to generate some nice PR for himself. I don't find that particularly endearing.
I’m late to the party on this thread but would like to argue that speaking up was generating PR for the good cause that he was supporting, which is kind of the point when you support a good cause.

Buying tickets was better than Oasis too, logged in at KO time: "there are 28 people ahead of you in the queue". Delighted! Bagged a pair, can't wait

Lightening Seeds
Are there some ‘Darkening Seeds’ as well?

I wonder whether the demand differences between Paul Heaton and Oasis were a factor in the queue size?!

I'm fairly sure it was AC/DC they were supporting once in Manchester when I went to watch, and they walked off stage because they weren't getting the respect they wanted. They weren't getting mass-grief though. Fucking Premier League players these days eh
Shed 7 have never supported AC/DC as far as I'm aware .
And then ain't the type of kids to get tits on & walk of stage

Paul is on Sunday brunch at 9.30am today (sunday) channel 4.
How's it going Derby ? You sorted your move out yet ...?
I think we should have a poll on what your new user name should be once you are an official resident in Humberside .
I suggest "Farv marl" 🤣
That's hull speak for five mile
I'm only joking buddy hope you are well

Hello pal , good morning.
I'm over in hull Wednesday till the following Monday. Iam actually meeting the company on Thursday for discussions .
If anyone knows, I collapsed December 23rd last year after work and wasn't able to walk for nearly 4 months .
I've been in and out hospital and doctors all year . I've only just come off tablets , I was rattling on pills .
Fingers crossed for Thursday, I passed 2 interviews there and got the job no problem working on the wind turbines engineering wise which I've done all my life.
I've got doctors Tuesday see what's said as I have 2 good days then one bed day etc.
They want to operate on my spine but it's very risky so I chose a different route.
It's been damn depressing as I've been limited . To sit for 4 months not able to walk or leave home is mind numbing so now I travel everywhere literally so I'm not seeing my 4 walls .
Should no more next week .

Tickets purchased, and glad I'm going to see him for the umpteenth time.

He's a top, top man.

Some of the bollox spouted on here about him is shameful. If anyone has principles he has. He's never sold out to the music industry, lives in modest house in Manchester, and has none of the trappings of fame.

He's a national treasure and better still, a Blade.
Sounds like you just described Shed 7 , probably why he chose them as support .
I loved the Housemartins, was never bothered about beautiful south ..not edgy enough for me .I once went to see Heaton in ledmill

Ah sorry to hear that buddy , hope ya have a speedy recovery

The bars were a nightmare at the Kell fight as Matchroom took over the catering and were using cans and bottles. Staff were turning them upside down in the cups and they were frothing everywhere and taking an age to settle and fill up.

I'm no fan of our catering at matches and rarely use it but I had no problems getting drinks at Def Leppard. The pies were laughable though.

Looking forward to this one. Seen PH quite a few times over the years at different venues, favourite being at Fez Club or Poo Naa Naa in Hull over 20 years ago. Only 200 people in attendance and only got tickets through winning a competition.

Seeing Lightning Seeds next month. Might have passed had I known this was happening.

There's already touts selling tickets for £53 on the South stand.

£ 70/80 on viagogo.............

Cheers to Pollingtonblade who gave a heads up Paul was on telly this morning. I recorded it and could FFW through it to see him talking a bit about us and the gig. To save anyone else the bother here’s the relevant 2 mins. Apologies for the brief cat interruption, but I left it in on GBC as she is called ‘Fleck’ (other two cats are ‘Bash’ and ‘Paddy’).

No mention of Ched or Marlon.

Got our tickets and looking forward to it. Love Paul and seen quite a few times. I fondly remember the gig at Sheff Plug supported by Sabella, when the crowd got the GCB anthem going. More recently in Donny he introduced the band by their footy team rather than their name; Leeds fan got the boos he deserved, and a few of us scattered about got GCB going. Saw him again a few weeks ago at a Radio 2 Weekend (and Shed 7, who I also really like) and he was introduced as a Sheff Utd fan. Nobody joined in GCB that time.

Flag Day ⚔️

Edit: dunno if video worked or it may take time to upload, so I ‘inserted’ it again. Apologies if it won’t play.

I've got 2 seat tickets , south stand for myself and a motherwell lad
I have the promo code if you need it to get yourself 4 if you want it

I’m not sure what the promo code is? What does it get you and where do you use it?

Yes he was trying to milk publicity, using the situation to promote one of his concerts to boost his profile and image.

Sean Bean kept quiet, why couldn't he?

And if it was a moral stand he was making, why did he keep quiet and not resign when we signed Marlon King?

I'm not saying he's a bad person or should be vilified, rather that he deserves scrutiny and it should not be forgotten about.
Do we know he kept quiet? Just because a newspaper didn’t publish anything about this particular instance, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t against it.

Who doesn't like Paul Heaton?
It's only ever going to be Blades pulling to play there now, you a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan? Write Flea a letter

I would think the wait time difference for 28 and 280,000 would be a a good 40 minutes at least
