Suppose line up will be geriatric last tour payday set or it could be Rev and the Makers 😂

Stereophonics just announced they are playing at Huddersfield’s ground in June - could they do another Yorkshire date?

The most landfillable of landfill indie bands couldn’t even make it when Landfill indie was at its height, then spent 20 years circling the toilet bowl refusing to be flushed
I'm not a huge fan, they don't have many good tunes, but they're too electronic sounding to be typical indie landfill. Heavyweight Champion of the World is a legit banger. There's a great article Here about how unkind the term Indie Landfill is considering the 00s indie music scene was actually quite brilliant.

It was weird how one day we woke up and there was just no indie in the charts anymore, and that's how things have stayed ever since.
Kids today go to an indie night and think its acceptable to ask for The 1975. The shame of it 🫣

Probably been said, Housemartims played the lane as part of Tony Curries testimonial, with George Best playing for a half.

Also saw them at the Leadmill, which still is one of the best gigs I've seen.

I'd go and see Heaton over Oasis any day of the week, as 35 quid and less coked up twats chucking piss (when an why did that become a thing?)

The Undertones at Leadmill on Saturday which is not a bad way to spend an International Break evening.

I’ve massaged the term there for comic effect but they really were dreadful. They had similarities with a lot of bands around at the time and managed to ride the 00s indie wave but we’re essentially a destitute man’s Hard Fi. I can’t stand the self styled “Mr Sheffield” Reverend either. An embarrassment of a man and that’s not purely down to his porcine leanings.

Musically it was a great time for bands and gig going and as you allude to there was more musical diversity though than that “scene” was credited with. I was 19/20 as it was all kicking off and had a great time. The musical landscape is so much different these days.

There was a notable drop off in quality though post Arctic Monkeys just through the sheer number of bands all trying to copy the formula.

Oh for the old LIMIT DAYS saw 999 killing joke ultravox before the TOTPS Shite when John Foxx was the front man,Adam Ant,OR seeing bands like Slaughter and the dogs, the drones,Chelsea, the Clash,Sham 69,Magazine at The Roxy, that's before all these soulless arenas, and the great pleasure I got from slinging a pint from my plastic glass over Tonya Wilcox, the talentless screaming bitch Happy Days then and Fuck the crazy Daziey Pig hole but interesting some match days

The 1975 absolute jokers them lot , kids don't know what indie is these days , and I'd say it was radio 1 who changed the landscape, one day it was joe wiley & mark & lard playing Doves , badly drawn boy , supergrass etc ....
Then we had that twat who took over from chris moyles playing the 1975 & maroon 5 .
Now you don't get any indie on Radio 1
Bring back Mark E Smith 😢

Glad somebody beat me to saying it, I wouldn’t have been so measured in the language used. Him and his brother are pathetic horrible rats.
That's a bit strong buddy , can you elaborate on the level of hate you have ?
Genuine question

Shed 7 are a great live band ....
Always give it everything
Never sold out to London even with pressure from the label .
Ticket price's always decent....
Top lads Top band
I'm fairly sure it was AC/DC they were supporting once in Manchester when I went to watch, and they walked off stage because they weren't getting the respect they wanted. They weren't getting mass-grief though. Fucking Premier League players these days eh
