Paul Coutts was ill too...

Rumour doing the rounds from some pig fans that Madine was attacked as he was getting off the coach by Blades, I reckon it is proper pork talk trying to give the thug an excuse other than he bottled it.
Anyone able to confirm the above is BS?

Bolton's knobhead chairman would certainly have mentioned it as he chucked the kitchen sink in with all the other excuses.

The only other possibiliy is that one of North-Korea-Talk's special agents had a rag with some VX on it and got him as he stepped off the bus. They had to take him out so he wasn't completely humiliated by Billy. That way they can still say "ah, but if Madine had played......"

Plenty of photos show he was perfectly fine.
The Bolton gossip more likely true in that he got a gob full from team mates for being the prick that he is and reacted the only way he knows by throwing some punches. Sent home by the manager....and relieved about it too I bet.

If that had happened, I'd expect the news to be all over it. Are these pigs suggesting that somehow a player got assaulted by a supporter and no one there noticed? There's no need to disprove such an allegation because it's outlandish. It's up to them to prove it.

Yeah - the official BWFC twitter account posted pictures of him getting off the team coach looking in good spirits.

Didn't look like a man who was ill, or someone who had been in an altercation. He just looked like his usual self - a twat.

this spot on ,and the comparison with Cowans is a great spot.

I'd also liken him to McCall and McDonald as he has that same ability to receive the ball, turn away from trouble and spread it to someone in more space. Many of my frustrations with Coutts have been similar to the ones I had with McDonald but both have undoubted ability.

Played like he was ill 1st half with at least 3 misplaced passes that he would normally make. Almost fell over the ball when he was last man as well in his usual dropping too deep and leaving himself exposed manor.
Lot better 2nd half.

They must have done him a Lemsip at half time

Anyone who had seen Coutts in the years before we signed him, knew he was a proper footballer.

My concern, and many other's when we signed him, was that he wasn't long back from a real nasty knee injury. A Derby fan I know told me he was nowhere near full fitness, yet Clough like with others was happy to bring a player in lacking fitness.

His ability has never been in question but his fitness and desire to tackle has been.

I'd say a full preseason and being surrounded by proper footballers has made a big difference.

Well done Couttsy lad.

The grunters have done the same with Hutchinson ,sometimes like that and with Coutts it pays off long term ,sometimes like James Wallace it doesn't. A risk worth taking ,just a shame that the player gets abuse if it doesn't come off.

Apparently Coutts' private life was a major factor in his previous poor form.

He must have it all sorted now though as he was pictured in Meadowhall with bags and bags of shopping for him and the missus.

About time he realised he had other gifts that he is not bringing to the Party. Keep working on him CW you may yet prise these out for us.

Coutts has been outstanding this season - his use of the ball is top class tbh.

I think the Coutts we saw before was a player who was scared of getting injured - and that was understandable. Looks like he has got past that this season, hence him looking like the good footballer Clough believed he was.

He's certainly proved me wrong. When I walked out of Swindon (the play-off semi) I was his biggest critic and didn't want to see him in a blades shirt ever again. Last season was no better but (with respect to him, CW and the coaching staff) he's become a key part in us playing the most effective and entertaining football we've seen in years. "Good on 'im" and I hope he keeps it up.

Agree with the McDonald comparison. Like with McDonald when he first went to Wolves, Coutts is now playing 10 yards deeper which allows him to dictate the pace more and play more of a quarterback role. That works well with Fleck and Duffy doing more of the running and driving forward and it also means our centre backs have nearly always got an easy ball to a midfielder available.
