That has reminded me of a time I drove my dad & a couple of pals to a Blades v Cov game sometime around 1989/90. At the time I had a Capri 2.8 Special with a Turbo Technics conversion, & my dads mates wanted to get back to the White Rose at Handsworth as soon as possible. I pulled up outside the Rose just seconds less than 40 minutes after we left the ground!

If Ings is on £30k pw it's definitely worth terminating early (if possible)

‘Terminating early’ means paying off the whole of their remaining contract, so it doesn’t save any money. It would just mean that he’s no longer available to play, so we’d be worse off.

In some cases, a clause in the contract might state that the payment for terminating early stops if and when the player gets a new contract at a new club on the same or higher wages, but that’s unlikely to happen with Ings.

Does have the feel of him leaving now doesn't it. I guess he feels he's still able to perform at the top level and if Coventry for example are able to offer him a contract with a decent chance of promotion and therefore top-flight football then he's going to be tempted by that. You get the impression he would've happily signed for them when he was training with them so the location etc clearly isn't a problem for him.

No one clamouring to nick Ings off us in JTW. That’s because Bamford is on fire since joining us. Had he performed like Ings we’d all be saying get shut.
Lad has currency and he’s going to cash in. To our advantage we gave him the chance, if reports are true he’d prefer not to relocate and it’s obvious he struck a good relationship with fans, something I don’t think the Leeds fans did.
Hopefully he’s rightly squeezing our pips for best deal he can and so he should if he keeps his current form up.
