You are almost certainly correct Vic, I fear the memories of things in the past tend to get exaggerated when being recalled. I think it was more likely that it took 40 mins from when we hit the M69, but again I could be wrong.

Nice Tuscan & Chimaera in your avatar. I too have had many powerful cars, much more than the Capri in my story. It was 260 bhp, & had totally reworked suspension, including an A frame arrangement designed to stop the rear axle moving around, & it was very effective.

I had a fully restored Chimaera with a 4.7 V8 race tuned engine & that was pretty quick to say the least, as well as an import Mazda RX7 twin turbo, modded of course, & a JDM MR2 Turbo with a charge cooler from a Celica ST205 amongst other goodies, & nitrous oxide, which was around 375 bhp. These did the standing quarter mile in the low 12's.

I despite football agents, they are more interested in money than respecting the wishes of the players they are representing.

That is very true, I don't know if the rumours about MLS have anything going but their season starts in Mid/End February so he might be fancying a trip across the pond if the money is right. Although I would like him to sign, if he doesn't he has helped us get a bit of steam and at least got us some points. Although you do then think we would need to be in for another striker either on loan or otherwise that can hit the ground running if he doesn't put pen to paper.

I get the impression the loan of One is partly based on Bamford signing. As I have not seen his loan to Rotherham confirmed yet.

Regardless of whether he signs or not he’s played an integral part to helping us stay out of the relegation zone and that needs remembering big time.

When he joined we were a clusterfuck and had played 15 games, with 11 losses, just the 3 wins and only 1 draw accumulating 10 measly points, since then we have played just the 10 games, with 7 wins, just the 2 losses and only 1 draw accumulating 22 points, without looking into his performances, which at times he’s shown absolutely true class for the league we’re in, we need to try our upmost to keep him here until at least the end of the season because there’s no coincidence in them stats at all.

It’s ultimately up to him and he owes us nothing, he’s earned everything he’s been paid for and some, let’s just hope we can come to an agreement because it will be a huge loss for us if he does go elsewhere and let’s face it, he’ll have one or two suitors.

If it's true that he wants to stay just get it signed, it's not like we're going to try and rip him off, that would be counterproductive. The player tells everyone that he wants to sign because he loves the club, the fans and the manager so much, and isn’t really bothered about money - while relying on the agent to play hard ball to negotiate the maximum salary. Yeah, that makes sense and I understand that, just wondered if there was ever a situation where a player genuinely wanted to play for club A but ended up at club B because the agent said so. Makes all the proclamations of 'he wants to sign' rather pointless. 'He wants to sign if we give him the most money', that would be refreshingly honest!

Play One (to get up to match speed) and Campbell to keep him fit along with Ings if needed.
Sit the scrounger on the bench in the freezing cold and tell him after the game to sign or F off.
Have a bit of self respect and FFS see he has not been that good despite the goals.
The rest cannot score on the bench or sat in the stand or at home like One.

As the M69 has no cameras it’s ideal for really getting your foot down, so maybe.

Had two 3.0 capris, an S and a Ghia, but cart springs on back made it a liability in corners. Strange but my Audi diesel would run rings around them today. Had two Chimeras, 4.5 and 4.0, really liked them but only for decent weather days. As standard cars they were fast, no idea what a race tuned version would be like? Nitrous oxide is very impressive.

He's 32. I would have thought the contrat length is going to be the biggest issue. He signs to the end of the season and gets injured then thats it for him, he can't get a contract in the summer until he's fit, and he spends another summer seaching around for a club.

For us - he'll be on top Championship wages. Assuming we are in the Championship next season*, we'll need to trim the wage budget quickly.

If he really wants a 2.5 year contract. I wonder whether the club are willing to do that especially for a player who has had injury issues in the past.

I'd take the risk personally. Getting in a No.9 of his quality will cost a fortune if you buy, and still expensive if you loan one in. Easy to say when its no my money though.
