Having already completed deals for the likes of Richairo Zivkovic and Sander Berge they now look close to completing their move for Retsos.

According to Fussball.news, the centre back has already completed his medical tests with the club and should be officially presented by Sheffield United shortly.

The website reports that the ‘imminent deal’ is likely to be a loan until the end of the season, with Bayer Leverkusen seemingly unwilling to lose him permanently at this stage.

There is no mention of whether the deal will include a purchase option for Sheffield United, although Bayer have moved quickly to replace Retsos with defender Edmond Tapsoba set to join the club from Vitoria Guimaraes.

It's probably the negotiation with regards to making it permanent that is holding it up. I wonder if we'll walk away if they don't agree to that? It would seem pretty pointless to me without it.

Didn't Treeton say all foreign loans had to be with a view to becoming permanent?

people at work shorten mine to Fuckwit all the time, well I say shorten, it’s actually longer, no idea where they’ve got it from.

We can still sign them, the problem is if they don’t bring someone in and can cause disruption to our deal, I’m not saying this is the case but it could happen.

Other way around i'd guess. If you saw the behind the scenes video of Mousset signing, everything was done and dusted on the media side. They then said, they'll only be used once the transfer is fully completed.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but...if that is the case, I imagine Wilder thinks he’ll be useful in a push for Europe, and should we get it and Retsos fit in well, then who knows what will happen long term?
