Sky sports definitely said 5pm for the German transfer window earlier. They also said the Italian one was 7pm, they’ve either fucked up or a lying set of unprofessional twats.

Hence why English teams were all twitchy in the summer because the European teams’ window was a week longer than ours, and so they could sign players from our teams after our window closed, with us unable to bring anyone in to replace.

Having already completed deals for the likes of Richairo Zivkovic and Sander Berge they now look close to completing their move for Retsos.

According to Fussball.news, the centre back has already completed his medical tests with the club and should be officially presented by Sheffield United shortly.

The website reports that the ‘imminent deal’ is likely to be a loan until the end of the season, with Bayer Leverkusen seemingly unwilling to lose him permanently at this stage.

There is no mention of whether the deal will include a purchase option for Sheffield United, although Bayer have moved quickly to replace Retsos with defender Edmond Tapsoba set to join the club from Vitoria Guimaraes.

I saw confirmation of Can signing for Dortmund came through about half an hour ago on SSN, 7pm in Germany. I'd like to think if the supposed 5pm deadline was an issue the club would have mentioned it in the last couple of hours.
