Its a win. A scruffy win with improved second half. Three at the back works as many of us has said. Ben Mee made the difference in defence. We just have to hope he isn't overworked next few games. We need his leadership and experience. Midfield still requires a lot of work. Peck still gives the ball away too much. Soumare was just having his best spell when he was hooked. We need his physical presence there. Up front still continues to frustrate but credit to O'hare he took his goal well. A cross from a winger getting to the bye line and crossing with his dominant foot. How long is it since that happened at SUFC.

Its a relief to get some points on the board and it should help confidence. It was good to see everyone putting in the effort at the end. Much more of the same is required from now on.

I'm just relieved that we're not still on zero points. Hopefully the win will instill confidence in the players to kick on from here, but based on that performance, we're extremely fortunate that we weren't playing a better side.

That first half performance was complete and utter garbage. Were it not for the defence making some last-ditch blocks, Oxford would have been out of sight well before half time. And had we been playing a stronger team, I fully believe we'd have been picked apart in that first 45.

Whenever we were in possession, either the man with the ball gave it away, or those without it offered no option, forcing a long ball upfield. Both resulted in a turnover of possession and left us on the back foot. The one time we did something of note, Campbell made a mess of the chance.

Everyone was awful first half, but Hamer and Campbell get called out ahead of the rest, for continuing to do fuck all in the second half as well. When Hamer went off, the commentator on the feed I was watching said he hadn't been at his best. That's some bloody heavy sugar coating.

Soumarè did well 2nd half before being subbed. Strong on the ball, carried it forward well, and offered an option in the final third. Makes me wonder how we would have done had Chong not gotten injured in the warmup.

I don't know, I don't go to an away match and we win. We shouldn't over analyse that however as I'll be at the next one.

By the gods - did the club need that. Really pleased for Wilder, the players and our amazing away support.

The only way is up now. Or possibly sideways.

Stupid bringing Cannon on instead of One if that’s how we’re going to defend in the last 10 minutes. If we are going to hoof it aimlessly out of defence you at least want some chance of it being held up.

Delighted with the points, though.
I've weighed in on how poor and option Cannon is and has been for us, in his defence last 15 mins the gap between def and attack was huge, midfield waay to deep he cannot hold up the ball with support so without any what hope does he and we have?

Great win lots of positives :

Mee
Tanganga
MM

Looked good as a three.

Peck looked better as the game went on after a very shaky start….

Burrows was sort of back to himself.

Cooper was massively improved.

COH full of running.

Atmos was great when he came on.

Things I’m worried about

Lack of a serious scoring threat.

Hamer is way below it right now.

Ogbene looks like he’s come back from serious injury.
