Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

I don't want to get dragged into it mate, I really can't do it. If they want to use my posts as a stick to beat me with there's nothing I can do about it. But I'm not going to do the same.

Honestly wish I'd never bothered with the CI stuff, it was just a laugh (for some). I didn't want it to turn out like this.

I have in the main found Crab Industries to be a good supplier of humour in this forum. However they are arrogant if they assume they have the monopoly on threads going off topic. In my experience this seems to occur on virtually every fucking thread on here anyway, often with less humour involved.

3 miserable fuckers moaning about it in the last couple of weeks should not be allowed to disrupt this. Take a sabbatical if you must and then make a sideways entrance back in! :)
 
Hey Crabbie, just picked up on this thread and it saddens me to see you of all posters on a downer. Carry on as before mate, bollocks to what anyone thinks, the rubbish you come out with is at least funny unlike most of the efforts the rest of us come up with. By the sounds of it Brownie's regretting his post so cut him a bit of slack as well, he's not the first to put his foot in it on this forum, we've all had our moments. Hope the domestic side of things improves as well so cheer up a bit mate, that's the best I can come up with.

Never wanted brownie to get stick from others, hence the post you quote above, happy to cut him as much slack as there is. Thank you for your best wishes, they mean a lot.
 
I don’t think I have ever posted on a CI post (goooo on then, some chuff prove me wrong!) but I find it light hearted and amusing. I enjoy it most of the time and, if it gets too much, I scroll quickly by. Brownie, I have no problem with you either. Can you guys not kiss and make up and if one doesn’t like the others posts (diplomacy) just quickly scroll by? This world has enough shit going on without blade v blade. In the words of the illustrious man “Hey, we’re all Blades, aren’t we?”

On an even more serious note, good luck with the health of all your family as it will, I know, affect you all.
 
I nearly had to go to Riyadh on business last year. Apparently the dullest place on earth and crap hotels (unless you have mega bucks). Luckily as a contractor the company I was working for didn’t want to send me in the end.

I was fortunate enough to work there for three months. In a hotel rather than the 'interesting' compounds. The hotel itself was nice, rofftop tennis court, pools and billiard tables and a great gym.

Outside though, wow, just a huge mass of concrete, not nice at all. Novelty factor ran out after about 2 days and I was bored sh1tless.

Now, if you're fortunate enough to work out there long term, I hear the compounds (particularly the ones containing eastern european stewardesses) are supposed to be ruddy fantastic.
 
Good lad! I live in Barnsley (posh Barnsley near Penistone, but Barnsley nevertheless), and although I'm Sheffield and a Blade through and through, I do have some positive experiences of 'tarn! The centre is a dump, but it's a work in progress (as is our own great city). There are good things, you just need to know where to look! You can buy alcohol legally in Barnsley, which I don't think you can in Riyadh! There aren't too many public executions either! Finally, I wish people would stop referring to Wendy as South Barnsley. It's not! There are some weird people, but when I travel to BDTBL on the train, the weirdest people get on not at Barnsley or Wombwell (good Blades contingent here!), but in Chapeltown, which when I last looked was in North Sheffield, and is very much Grunter territory! Cue Chap Blades shooting me down now!

True, even if it wasn't directly club organised with it being called by McCabe, you'd think they could have put a couple of lines on the SUFC webite just to mention it's off.

I would have gone if the match hadn't been called off but still don't know if it was postponed other than Davalon 's post indicating he'd heard it had been postponed.
 
I'd have gone even with the match off as i've never been to one of these meeting before with work commitments and i'm intrigued to find out exactly what's going on, so we have a bit of substance to the who's done what conspiracy theories we are getting as fact from folk.

It was only when I asked the question of someone I know through Twitter that he told me. I would expect him to know doing some work at the Lane.
 
I don't think The Crab really has to throw his cards in on here, i was just frustrated to see another thread taken off topic to the Crab Industries stuff.

The thing is that getting any actual facts about a takeover on an internet forum is never going to happen.

Only McCabe and the prince,plus maybe a select few others actually know. Those in the know are not going to come on here and show their hands to the other party, that's how business works, keep your powder dry.

So a little light relief (read Crab Comedy inc.) between the I think/but I think posts is what keeps many on here.

If the 'facts' were available then the S.Stir and Radio S. would be all over it albeit innacurratetly :(.

My take on the 'takeover' is that there has been a bid from D Taxis to buy the club as their owner is fed up with his non league club and wishes to own a proper family club which plays attractive football for his son.

So we could have a 12 page thread of opinions from those who 'know' as above, or some light humour to keep our interest.

The football club still jointly owned, opportunity to transfer to sheikh in feb was not taken forward and it is now in litigation

To do with personalities and lack of understanding on how to run the club.
Sounds like several months they have been sorting out some issues about approach, I think McCabe and the sheikh have disagreed on quite a few things but he’s being diplomatic

I'll speculate that McCabe has become concerned about the direction the Prince wants to take things and has therefore called him on the agreement in an effort to get full control back. Might just be that the Prince sees a European/ foreign player push and Wilder would not fit the profile any more .

Pure speculation, instinct, 'gut feeling' whatever; maybe miles off but the changes on the Board recently with the McCabes moving off completely, their swift return and the Van Winkle bloke suddenly appearing in amongst it all made me nervous.

Whoever regains control or takes control will presumably have to stump up a lot of money. The Prince has invested millions but he was 'given' half the club. There will be a formula with a 'sliding scale' to take account of how much and when cash has been injected and today's equivalent/ perceived value of the club it's now in the Championship with better players of more value and much higher income. No deal can be possible before we are out of the running for the Play-Offs.

Personally I don't like either outcome. I don't know the Prince or his ambitions/ resources. I respect McCabe and his contribution over the years but respect the fact he does not wish to spend huge funds on getting them to the next stage. Wilder with a low budget would be his way forward presumably.

Could there be another buyer in the wings?
