Agree with 8 matches to play remaining fixture difficulty was almost identical, 4-4.
We had the harder game against Bristol City compared to Leeds playing Millwall.
And again today we had the harder fixture playing PNE compared to Leeds playing Birmingham.

Also I don’t tend to takes much notice of league position as some teams are bunched together separated by 1 or 2 points.
Also you have anomalies, for example Brentford are great at home, but poor away.
Even Wigan and Rotherham have excellent home records but are terrible away from home.
Yeah it's true, looking at only league position is too simplistic really.

Every side has certain tendancies which become clearer as the season progresses. For example, we are poor after international breaks, but we also bounce back well after defeats. Using those two facts you could've correctly predicted our last two results.

Millwall may seem like an easier match, but they are also capable of getting decent results vs the better teams in this league, and came close vs Leeds last week.

Some people on here are saying, dont try to predict anything, take each game as it comes etc etc and the logic makes sense.

However i think it is possible to roughly gauge the upcoming fixtures, but you just have to go more in-depth than league position. There are so many other factors involved, such as home vs away form being one that you mention.

No idea why or what logic I’m using, but I still only have Leeds taking 8 points from their next 5.

Millwall may seem like an easier match, but they are also capable of getting decent results vs the better teams in this league, and came close vs Leeds last week..

I put Millwall in a similar bracket to Rotherham, tough, organised, difficult to break down and good at set pieces.
Leeds seem to struggle against organised teams sitting back defending in numbers, they have no big men and no physicality.

Wilder will give Millwall full respect, he’s not a football snob and appreciates Millwalls strengths and he won’t under estimate them.
However I think a big plus for us will be having Gary Madine available and also the whole team can battle with the best of em.

So difficult in this league. Look at Millwall beating WBA 2-0 today, despite being down at the bottom all season. We have them at home next week, but are they in good form? Is that a freak result? So hard to tell.

Millwall thoroughly deserved to win against a WBA side that created fuck all. They've also put in some very good xG numbers in their last 4 games, which included ties against Norwich, Leeds and Brum.

A comfortable win vs QPR for them in midweek would be handy, to move them away from the relegation zone. It won't be an easy game for us, especially if they're desperate for the points.

It's a sliding scale of where teams interest will sit depending when we or Leeds play them. I'm hoping forest are out of it by time we play them similarly hull. I think villa will still need something by time they play Leeds

I'm conservatively predicting we'll finish 3 ahead of Leeds on 91 pts

I know there'll be 4 go, and I'm a cynic, but I reckon if we beat Brum and Leeds lose to Preston we've cracked it. I may hate myself for posting this, but there you go. I don't think Leeds will beat Wendy. I don't think we'll beat Stoke. I think our hardest game is Brum. We're not far away. After so many years of crapness it's all a bit weird. You can feel it, but it may get snatched away. Been a great ride though. Fingers crossed!!!!

In the reverse fixtures we picked up 9 points with draws against Birmingham, Stoke and Ipswich.Wins against Hull and Millwall an single defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Leeds picked up 14 points with draws against Pigs and Brentford. Wins against Preston, Wigan, Aston Villa and Ipswich.

However the form guide and some players have changed since those fixtures, the results against Stoke and Ipswich in particular stand out as matches where we did enough to win the games but were incredibly unlucky, I also remember the poor bit of defending from freeman during a tight encounter with Nottingham Forest earlier in the season that cost us points. Leeds on the other hand played well in the reverse fixtures, although, it is important to stress that Preston at that time were at the bottom of the table and struggling to string anything together and the pigs had the “Dutch footballing Messiah” Jokey Luchejene (something like that) as manager.

Prediction - Sheffield United 14 points Leeds - 13 points
