My first year of having a season ticket
My first season too, how lucky were we?
Mine too
Bloody hell , mine too.
71/72 was my first season attending the Lane but my season ticket didn't come until a few years later due to playing commitments.#metoo
Loved 71/72 season
pommpey
Mine was 69/70 but that’s the bulk of the squad that I first remember.
Hope, Hockey and Ford signed for us in January 1971, the same day as Tudor left for Newcastle. Buckley's only appearance that season was coming on as sub in the 2-1 defeay at Bolton on 16th January 1971 (Tudor scored in his last league appearance for us and it was Hodgy's last too)Obviously doesn't include John Hope and Trevor Hockey who were signed midway through that season. Wasn't David Ford and Paddy Buckley part of the squad that season too?

Blimey, I remember that photo.
Mick Heaton played a few games, Graeme Crawford played in the 5-1 away midweek win at Pompey (Tudor played in CB in Eddie's absence). A few days later Hodgy and Eddie returned to the line up for the Wendy game, Tudor was dropped to bench but scored the famous winner!I only know some of this because I've got the full set of 'Lane Line-Ups' in a binder from that season. I was actually born during that season!
Did any other players feature that season?
The two Cardiff fans on the pitch with a flag before the match.the legendary 5-1 demolition of Cardiff in the penultimate game that secured promotion.....
The two Cardiff fans on the pitch with a flag before the match.
Bill Dearden tear-arsing to the BL end and lifting it over the goalie, absolute pandemonium on 't kop.
Dearden cost £10k from Chester. 10 freakin grand.
Suppose Silent will fill the gaps and correct me if wrong. UTB
PIANO LESSON ???My mate who had a season ticket at the side of me missed the Cardiff game because he had a piano lesson.
He pretended afterwards that he wasn’t that bothered because he thought we would win anyway!
Pah, one of the best nights ever at The Lane.
