Disappointed in the number of "Liverpool" responses in this thread. They're like the pigs on steroids, deluded scouse wankers.

(also, they gave the world "steeeeeeeeeeevieeee geeeeeeeee *phlegm phlegm phlegm* For that alone they are deserving of contempt, if not outright hatred).

Personally, quite like Spurs, look on Rovrum as our little brothers, and have a soft spot for Middlesbrough due to many good friends up there.

The rest of them can fuck off.

Not sure why anyone likes AFC Wimbledon. While what happened to Wimbledon FC was appalling, AFCW bought Kingstonian's ground out from under them, then sold it to Chelsea leaving them homeless and playing half an hour away in Leatherhead, while also killing off greyhound racing in Wimbledon by building their new stadium on it. Rather than the MK Dons experience making them a nice, plucky underdog for the community, they're basically emulating the thing they claim to despise and riding roughshod over anything that stands in their way.

I like other teams in red and white stripes, except Stoke.
I agree with the basic sentiment. If Wimbledon fans had done the simple activity of Going Through The Turnstile, they'd still be "in Merton".
And, their "hijacking" at Kingstonian doesn't sit well with me. More here - but not for the faint hearted.

I’m with you on the scousers. They’re a bunch of deluded fuckwits!!.
Always had a bit of a soft spot for arsenal. (Ian Wright era).

No I'm not from Belfast. Season ticket holder at the glens and attend most games if I'm not travelling over to watch the blades.
Fair play I gave up lrish league football 2005 go to the odd game though. If your ever fancy watching televised game over couple pints let me know.

Orient ,no other reason that Ive loved going there and they are a proper club unlike most of the other shitheads in London.

Chatted to some of their fans a few years ago in the Dev Cat (when it was still a proper pub). Absolutely sound they were.

Yep. I'm bored.

Which teams (if any) other the mighty Blades do you have a soft spot for and why?

I'll kick us off.

Spurs - Was a huge Gazza fan growing up and always like how they play

Everton - Uncle is from just outside Liverpool and I used to go to quite a few matches with him - proper club

Bradford - One of my first away matches (was about 8 years old) and always remember being sat in a beer garden chatting to their fans, who were dead friendly and playing on the climbing frame/swings with their kids

Portsmouth - Same as Everton story really. Local relative and all that

Chesterfield - Where I live now so always like to see them do well

Borussia Dortmund - Met a guy on holiday in Turkey a few years back who was part of the technical staff there - Lovely bloke who had some amazing stories to tell and even posted out a home shirt to my lad when he got back - Will be going there next season to take in a game or two

Sampdoria - Bought one of their shirts when I was young on holiday and kept an eye out for them ever since

EDIT: Apologies should be "other teams" not "other english teams"

None …… only the Blades mate !! :D

And ALL the other teams hate us and prefer the deluded arrogant pig scum you know ….. o_O

UTB & FTP

O.K. then I’ll have a go.
Dulwich Hamlet, because my dad watched them. Been a couple of times to Champion Hill, great club bar with a good choice of beers, great support for a team in The Isthmian League and great kit, pink and navy.
Since had to leave their home and share with Tooting and Mitchum due to greedy bastards who wanted to build houses or some such on their ground and steal the rights to use their name. You’ll have to read up on it yourselves as it’s quite involved.
Also and for no reason other than I that I like their name, Dungannon Swifts.
Been to Ibrox a few times and had a good day out.

That's actually Sandygate, home of Hallam FC.
It would seem that Maidenhead would disagree although their caveat is "oldest continually used ground by the same team"

Lifted from their website :-

In the beginning...
The origins of senior football in Maidenhead can be traced back to October 1870 with the formation of Maidenhead Football Club, who subsequently played their first ever fixture on December 17th, 1870 against Windsor Home Park at Bond’s Meadow near Maidenhead bridge. On Thursday, February 16th 1871 the club played their first game on the York Road site against Marlow. This ground, which was then shared with the cricket club, is now officially acknowledged as the oldest continually used football ground in the world by the same club, eclipsing Northwich Victoria's old claim by five years. Maidenhead were one of the original 15 entrants for the first ever FA Cup competition in 1871-72 and the following season reached the last four before losing to Oxford University. Maidenhead reached the quarter-finals in the next two seasons, but in 1876 did not enter, although this was the only season they failed to participate. They also entered the first ever Berks & Bucks Cup competition in 1878 - winning the competition for the first time in 1895 - and the first FA Amateur Cup in 1893. The adopted club colours were Red & Black, initially worn as halved shirts, but changed to stripes in 1904.

But again, Hallam FC played their first ever fixture at Sandygate on 26th December 1860, some 11 years prior to York Road.

Actually, Hallam FC did dissolve for a year in 1886 so Maidenheads claim would be correct as the oldest continually used ground. So that's fair enough.

No interest in any league team. Very much enjoy non league and if not watching the Blades I’ll take in either of the nearby non league teams being Gainsborough Trinity or Brigg Town.

In my youth, I played school football on Saturday mornings, and so often I couldn't get to Utd away matches. I used to pick a game within a 40-mile radius of Sheffield and take the train to Manchester, Nottingham, etc., to see the teams I felt were the best to watch. My 3 favourites were:
Man United - the Munich disaster was very emotional for any youngster interested in football, and they have had to work hard to destroy those emotions, but they have succeeded.
Sunderland - there was a time when the team of Shackleton, Hurley and Stan Anderson was a joy to watch, and the red-and-White stripes helped.
Spurs- the double-winning team played great football, had great characters, and were almost unbeatable. And without them, the league title would have gone to S6 in 1961. My gratitude remains undimmed.

Gréât post mate. I did the same throughout the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s. Can’t do it now. Last turnstyle I paid at was Burnley away. Beatie scored winner I believe. Only watch United now

Despite their antics at the lane last season always had a liking for Norwich sine their my late Grandads second club

Thanks for that. One thing that surprises me looking back is that the school matches kicked off at 10 (Whitely Woods), and I managed to get home, bus to town and train to Manchester, Nottingham, etc., and I don't think I was ever late for the kick-off. I don't move as quickly nowadays, but I wonder whether it would be possible to do that now. And the chances of paying at the gate for ManU, ManCity, etc., would be zero.

Both Rangers and Celtic are sectarian scum buckets ,
There’s reasons for it but I haven’t the time patience and much better things to be doing with my life than worrying about Billy boys and Taig suffering
Both teams are fucking shit ( easy to be good in a one team league )
But a brief summary is
Ahh fuck it can’t be arsed ,
And that’s not slating our flag btw

I really rate the support of both Celtic and Rangers but as I said I like Rangers over Celtic. No problem with Celtic not liking the English, I totally get why but as I'm English it makes it harder to like them! I don't see either as scum buckets. Its the most intense rivalry in the country and personally I wish both clubs were in the English leagues but I doubt many will agree with me.

this .. i'm up in Scotland atm and the Rangers lads are great . the only bollocks i get it from Celtic people. so much so i was advised 'not to watch England in the local Celtic boozer' . twats.
that and the Fleck connection i'm turning them into closet Blades. i have a few closet Blades in Austria as well :D

Not surprised at that but the rivalry stems from years of trouble in Northern Ireland and that's still a mess even now, albeit a much better situation than previously.

The Rangers fans would naturally be more inclusive of England than Celtic fans for sure.

You've set the bar now!

Everton - That comeback from 2-0 down in the 1966 Cup Final

Brighton - beat them in a semi in the 80s

Arsenal - beat them in an FA Cup Final replay. ("Andy, Andy, Andy Linighan")

DirtyLeeds - Put 6 past them at the sty in the 90s

Barcodes - Put 8 (teleprinter: 'EIGHT') past them in 99/00

Palace - Relegated them at the sty

Ull - beat them at Wemberlee in a play off final. Any other result would have been frightening and we'd never have heard the end of it.

Udders - Beat them in the play off semi despite being a 'little club' as per the deluded massive.

My enemy's enemy and all that.

Didn't Arsenal also beat them in the league cup final that same year?

No offense ment or taken Booker ,
But I’m keeping my council on this one
Both sets of fans have odious sectarian fuckers backing them
I work with Celtic fans and I’m shocked by there level of abuse at the Huns ( there words )
I’ve also been to Belfast during the troubles ( to watch Mark Hatley score the winner v Norden iron ) and being attacked , or tried to be attacked for being a fienien by the prods up there
And I’m a card carrying British passport holder being born and raised in S2
Our lass and kids don’t understand why I need to go to the British Embassy to get my passport
But I tell em it’s where I was born and that’s that
No they’d be fucking gash in the English leagues and there fans would be a throw back to the eighties soccer violence wise
Ask the coppers in Manchester after Rangers played there

the Celtic types were loving it when England lost. bit pathetic really
I still get the 800 years off oppression business on a weekly ( semi serious slag ) basis
And my response is would ya fuck off you’ve had your own country for over a hundred years and still relyed on the Brits to bail you out after the crash
Ohh and where still taking over 10,000 of ya fuckers every year
And your economy is fucked once the Brits leave
My own Da left Ireland for England when he was 15
RIP Da

Arsenal

I'm actually an Arsenal fan first, who started following the blades when I visited my girlfriend (now wife) at uni in Sheffield

I went to every home game and a few away (Barnsley, Man City) while she was there and have supported them ever since

But yeah, Arsenal :-/

No offence taken mate. I know the rivalry would bring its own problems for sure. Football wise if they got to the Prem which they would both be likely to do as they'd be taken over with the potential of big money than I think they'd both do well. What stops them is the lack of money in Scotland.

I know about the trouble in Manchester from Rangers fans. As I said it would have its problems but football wise I'd have loved to see Celtic and Rangers compete with the bigger clubs here and provide more competition. I know I'm no my own here though!

I hope you can still say that at this time next year.

I can't see how Brexit can avoid border checks on people, either between the south and the north or alternatively either side of the Irish sea.

Either way you're going to massively upset one community and the terrorists haven't gone away, they're merely biding their time.

I fear that the 2020s will be the new 1970s.

I also can't beilieve how few politicians seem to be resting on their laurels over Ireland and pretending that the problem doesn't exist.

Never hoped to be wrong so much in my life but I am fearful.
