He was poor first half and he far from oozed quality. His technique is poor. But, his energy forced things today. He deserves to start ahead of Stevens. We need more going forward.

He's about five foot and a fag paper though and was easily chipped today.

pommpey

He was probably rusty due to the ridiculous lack of game time he's had this season. He really improved second half and should keep the LWB spot for the remaining games.

His work rate is better than any other player in the squad and he would run through a brick wall for you, always shows for the ball and can put a good ball in but his positioning on occasions today was woefull.
Think he suits a wide left midfield player in a four but not sure about playing as a wingback

Keep Osborn in the 11 for me every game.He isn’t oozing in quality but his work rate is top class and must be infectious throughout the team.
Everything that is wrong with this club at the moment and the reason we're going down.
We need quality over anything else.

Tries yes quality player at this level NO

I know we love knee-jerk reactions on here and Osborn looked good today, but it is truly mesmerising that people think he’s better than Stevens.
It’s no knee jerk reaction. He rarely plays a game and doesn’t give 100 percent. As for Stevens he has been absolutely woeful since pre lockdown 12 months ago.

A 7/10 in one game does not make him a must have in every game. Too many of these players. Shine briefly and then disappear in the the next game.

For twelve months a table and chairs have been better than Stevens unfortunately .

I don’t dislike Ben Osborn but the day he falls within the ‘has to start’ bracket, I know we’re struggling.

Osborne - .Not interested whether he's better or worse than......................? For me his work rate on Sunday was impressive and it inspired the rest of the team. We haven't seen 45 minutes like that second half for a long time. Remember Hockey, nobody claimed he was a good footballer but his job was to win the ball and give it to TC and that's what he did and his performances spurred on the rest of the lads. He was a big factor in the 70/71 promotion side.
Give Osborne a run in the side , we just need to try some ideas for the rest of the season to aid us next year.

Exactly.Similar to Jordan Henderson at Liverpool last season.Far from the most gifted but he set a standard and they missed him when he was out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm convinced that Kean Bryan is worth a shot at LWB, he's got arguably the best cross out of all our left footers

Risk and reward though with Bryan, he has got a good cross and is our only wing back who is decent in the air but has seemed to make calamitous errors in key areas leading to goals or very good chances too often. With him and Norwood in a premier league game you are effectively starting each game on -2 or -3 (goals against).

Its a good point, I kind of hope that he'd work his way out of that unpredictability if he had a run of games at wing back. Possibly worth a shot in current circumstances when we're effectively down already, but I'm not a manager, just summat I'd like to see!

if rnd comes back i think 2 lwb will be sold but if the new manager plays 4 at the back it could slightly alter that think endas as good as done so i would expect him to be moved on
