Right, come on guys it's time for some optimism, we all know we've been playing bad, we're all aware it's going to be tough to stay in the play-offs and indeed win them given our current form, but we do still have a very good chance of promotion, we CAN do it, keep believing get 110% behind the team and the management for the remainder of the season!! let's all hope things "click" and the lads come into some good form for this run in and end by giving us what we all dream about and win promotion at Wembley!! We need to support and get behind them. Yes they are overpaid, underperforming, frustrating and should be in the top 2. Although nobody has the divine right, regardless of how many fans turn up every week.

I'm not saying all be happy clappers. But we need to be as one, no booing, no scrapping just be United.

We are constantly told the players think a lot of NC, if fans are on his back this could be one of the causes of the lack of confidence which is a big factor in my opinion of some of the performances. They seem scared not to lose, but this is becoming the outcome too often.

If we don't make the play offs lets have a postmortem on the season but until then there is everything to play for. As long as we make the top six it doesn't matter which place. I think finishing third is the worst position, so close, so far and then three hard games.

Let's get behind our boys

You are having a laugh aren't you? :)

Fine for a bit when we go 1-0 up, before getting tetchier and tetchier until they do actually equalise, then 5 minutes of non-stop panicking, shouting abuse and chanting 4-4-2 (seriously, not got eyes or memories then?), funnily enough, coinciding with our shakiest 5 minutes of the evening and them hitting the post.

All the players fault, before someone says I'm blaming the fans... I'm not at all... But we don't help ourselves and them either.

When they scored, one person in the away end tried to get a chant of "Sheffield United" going, I was stood next to him - DazBlade88, he was of course wasting his time, a few people looked at him... the majority ignored it completely before returning to the panic and abuse.

Nowt else to do. If we sack him, I think that'll be the season done. If we keep him, we've a shot at the playoffs but need a serious upturn in form.

Can't see Adkins or Lambert wanting to step into the (very hot) hotseat at Bramall Lane right now or in the foreseeable future. The latter is pie in the sky for League 1 and I think the former would be a decent shout for a mid table Championship club looking upwards.

Daz , agree with the optimism bit.

In London / Bournemouth working and couldn't get up to Walsall last night , so decided to go to the Orient match , and as a neutral see how good Barnsley are , with the new energy , confidence , they have with a change in manager.

Barnsley had a couple of shots on goal , but overall looked as poor as us . The overall thought is that all teams in this league can beat each other , and all are a much of a muchness , with the exception Imo of Bristol , Preston and MK Dons. These 3 teams have been through a bad run , and have not really turned us over. Swindon gave us a bit of a thrashing hitting us for 5 goals , but we ( like on many occasion ) created our own downfall.

From a play off aspect there are two places up for grabs . Two teams out of the top four are not going to get automatic , and if this goes to the wire , two teams will be going into the play offs , disappointed , deflated , and having to pick themselves up to go again .

The teams that finish 5th and 6th , which i feel will be the Blades and Peterborough , will go on to play in the final. Why - because they have both being playing so poor , that one of them will win the final , due to being so bad and unpredictable .

The Blades gaining a point in away games Imo is the correct strategy , and what is critical , ( as we all know , and Clough , players as much as us ) is getting home wins , which is achievable , but we have had too many unacceptable bad results at home , but we are still there , as other clubs have been as crap as us.

I am not mystic meg , but again we have been so poor , but still in the mix , and thankfully this season , this league is full of poor , shit , inconsistent teams exactly same as us , if not worst.

Conclusion , with no planned strategy of thinking ( because i know nowt about football management ) , the Blades will get promoted.

The consequence if wrong - Clough has got to go , as there will be no better chance than this season , and under Clough leadership and long term infrastructure planning it may be the 2018 / 19 season , if he was still around ., we achieve our goal of promotion . . A manager with league 1 promotions on his CV , would have to be the target if we fail this season.

With regards the players , who have signed because of Clough . They will have to remember , if we don't make it , it was them who got him the sack.

swindon hit a poor run lost 5 in 8 , but got out of it , weve lost 2 in 10 , lets not give up so fast

lets get behind the team and push forwards , instead of waiting for an error to voice our disgust at lets urge us on to better displays, give encouragement , like we would to an under 9 team , unless you swear at your kids :)

Ive noticed Derby are fading a bit under mclaren , so its not just Clough who cant get automatic promotion

Some people need to chill the fuck out. Every defeat is met with wrist slashing bile in much the same way as every win is followed by tales of how we're going to march on to untold glory. It's no wonder some are ready to jump in the bath with the toaster after a few bad results.

It's not just us, it's every forum, phone in, blog, terrace and Twitter hashtag in football.

Apart from missing out on promotion there is no reason there to sack him?

No offence but, have you been sniffing glue?

The only thing I'd say is that there wasn't a chant of "What the fucking hell was that?" at the end of the game.

Personally I made a point of going down the front and applauding the players for their efforts after the final whistle. Not much, but it was the best I could think of.

Perhaps we stood beside each other, as I did the same. And I was pleased to see the interaction from Howard.

No pal not my scene, just fed up of all the negativity about this place, life and everything in it is full of ups and downs, peaks and troughs, when your down you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself down and go again! Until we cannot gain promotion this season (god forbid) lets stop whining and get behind the team, UTB!!

Can't argue with a confident man.

It wasn't that long back , that Preston fans wanted Grayson out and the sack. The barometer for the fans and Clough , will unfortunately , may well be the next 3 home games , as we reach a point of no return.

He may well be running out of games and time . Personally i hope he , we , and the club get success this season.

Get behind the team 110%? Fucking hell :tumbleweed::rolleyes:

The "lads"? Fucking hell, you only forgot the "sing your hearts out for 90 minutes" or you'd have had a full house.

Being a Blades supporter for over 45 years, there have been many times this season and others I have thought oh shit to say the very least, but as I work alongside Yeovil supporters down here in the SW, think in some ways we are lucky as at least my club are in a position to sort some of the current issues what ever they may be, and no doubt will do so, unlike my colleagues club that appear to be in freefall! I am sure we will make the play offs and I am also sure we can and WILL improve!

But severe criticism on here does filter to the terraces as its in peoples minds in the pubs before games and pops out as soon as theres 1 bad pass

Of course we all want better, performances , aggression , confidence shown in games, but no team ever looks great all the time, even those lauded as the best have bad spells , we should stop focusing on our off days and back the club in this vital vital run in ,
We can seriously make this happen , we are 5th not 15th , lets not be the architects of our own downfall by creating a negative aura , that s waiting for failure instead of willing on the team to succeed.

We are 13 games from the championship , all we need is 13 positive days of support for us all to get what we want

and we dont need smart arse comments like it should be 10 games , we go with whats at hand .
,

Setting aside the poor tactics and performances, atmosphere can be toxic at the Lane at times. We've seen how the players can perform when the pressure is off against the likes of Spurs. They've got it in them to do so. But I wouldn't fancy a risky pass in front of a baying crowd, I'd take the easy sideways pass myself.
