Opportunity to obliterate the Pigs

In 2007 (in my view) we didn’t only get relegated, we missed the chance to blow the Pigs into oblivion, the club were United, the fan base was good and all the young support was favouring us, aided by a good price structure- but we blew it.

With the Pigs in absolute disarray this is the season where we have the chance again.

Sadly as seems to be the way with United through history we never have a board/manager/fans that are all on the same page - we either have a good manager with no backing ( Bassett) a good backing but shit manager or team, Good attendances but dire football.

We have the manager and the fans but don’t have Harmony at board level. So frustrating as the Pigs could go down and lose support this year.

I think people are overreacting to the disharmony at board level, yes they have fallen out and are fighting each other, but it seems to be having no bearing on the manager or our transfer plans, both of the owners need us to succeed to get any sort of ROI in the future, penny pinching wont and upsetting the manager and players wont help them one iota. Let them have their dick swinging contest, we can and hopefully will still obliterate them shitty twats.

Do people not think that the animosity/banter between the two clubs is what keeps local youths supporting one of the Sheffield clubs and not go glory hunting? If one were to go it might mean youngsters start supporting Successful clubs, like Man U. A path that could lead to a decline in our support, if we are not successful. No board, which is effectively what we now have, is the best we've had for years . Budget wise for team building is also the best we've seen since floppy Nobson was at the helm . *

It's a shame the current shenanigans will be sorted next year .

Last week was a perfect time for the Blades. They were fighting over transfer embargoes, radio coverage etc., we'd made some good signings and with a good preseason things were looking bright.

So how disappointing it was to lose against Swansea.

We definitely got the young fan base on board when we got to The Premier. We also took in a fair few students too who came to watch us then ended up staying in the city and supporting the club. McCabe's biggest success has been improving our attendances and fan base not only due to prices but also marketing kid and family days really well .

We have made up huge ground on Wednesday in terms of support and if the team continue to improve it will only get more people interested. I think talk of Wednesdays demise is premature but their play off final defeat certainly seems like a huge moment in their history now .
