So, given that last time around the most vocal decided to stay at home and not bother raising their concerns, who'll be attending this time around?

We'll endevour to bring you some coverage as last time :)

Sheffield United Chairman Kevin McCabe and Chief Executive Trevor Birch will be in the spotlight at two fans forums for supporters.

The question and answer style events will be held on Friday 23rd April (from 7pm) and the following morning ahead of the final home league game of the season against Swansea City.

Full details of arrangements will follow shortly but in the meantime any supporter wishing to attend should email: [email protected]

Mr Birch said "The forums will be independently chaired and hosted. They will not only provide a great opportunity to talk directly to the fans and listen to their comments, but will provide platforms to dispel one or two myths that have built up from this season as the club builds positive plans for the future."

Well i understand that this years promotion efforts have been hampered by an unusual string of injuries whic required too much temporary staff to ever really form a team but i only really wanna know how he plans to cut the wage bill (obviously neccecssary) but yet add much needed depth to our squad? Surely the back end of the season was the right time to use some of our youth talent?

This will be massively over subscribed, and I hope some of the regular moaners on here will attend and raise their concerns.

Three questions I’d like to put are:

A If we are to cut the wage bill further can he assure us that Blackie will be retained as he has demonstrated that he can keep a squad that is struggling within the Blades finances structure out of the relegation fight zone?

B If we have finished cutting back and the season gone is a one off, ‘balancing the books session’; can he assure us that Blackie won’t be in charge as he has demonstrated that he can’t get us promoted.

C If B applies what assurances can he give us that the new man would not be someone who ‘looks good on paper whilst negotiating property deals around the world’ but is in if fact useless to the football team?

I notice Trev declined to add that alot of the myths he talks about are created by Blackwell. Namely, no money to spend, low budget.

Ignore my warped mind, what are these myths he mentions? That we pass the ball? That KB is a crap manager? That McCabe has given up?

Seriously, can someone ask for me why Blades Realty accounts were filed late please? Genuinely cannot make it that day.

I'm going to stick my neck out and predict that most of the whingers won't go.

I'll be popping along, even just to have a listen.

What's the point of this?
Holding it after the season ticket deadline is pathetic.

Will you be going to raise this issue? or will you be busy again?

What? You're saying that after a certain date, season tickets will no longer be on sale? I'm very surprised by that len, but as you say so, I know it's a fact.

Get yourself down there and give the hapless idiots running our club both barrels, they deserve it.

We need your vision now more than ever. Fact.

get the fookers to come on here !...........................

easier to get a straight answer from Brown in my opinion !

I assume the "independent" chair and host will be Radio Sheffield.

I won't be back for the Swansea game unfortunately, pigs away will be my last game this season.

The only questions I have are the ones that arose after the Q&A with Radio Sheffield, they should be in amongst the general blades chat somewhere.

So Mr McCabe/ Mr Birch - Wheres the club going? Are we to assume that we'll settle for mediocrity

Now that the season's over we should get an answer...

Well all the usual moaners won't be turning up again which is a real shocker.

Well done United, you can't really argue with these face to face meetings to ask them directly what you want to.

No, I'm saying that most people renew before the first deadline.
The most eloquent response to the way we are being run is found in the numbers who are simply walking away.

I intend to go, but I don't agree that anything will be learned. It will be typical Q and A like prime ministers Question time, with little chance to really dig. (For instance, they'll tell us that Ched Evans was one of the highest transfers in the division, but people will still choose to believe Radio Sheffield instead because the detail wont be discussed.)

Not that I'd want to mirror that lot at The Sty, but actually engaging in debate on places like this would have some merit.

At least the club have bothered, but really far too little, far too late.

Therein lies a big problem, many of the moaners have simply stopped believing in visionary statements like the latest as reported by Foxy from the P.O.Y, so don't believe in the value of these meetings, so don't make the effort to go (I myself have never driven 40 miles to see a band I don't like for example), so the room is filled with believers who have a good night and then can fill their boots with pointed remarks about the non-attenders on here and on and on it goes...........until the next one.

What might have more merit, and it can't be beyond the club to organise, is have one of them as an invitation-only one targetting the people who have not renewed ST's as these will by definition be the more dissasitifed and consequently the ones that need reaching.

Spot on Raul. This thing is totally and utterly pointless. Thjere is no track record of McCVabe saying anything meaningful at all - why will this be any different? Birch and McCabe are masters in corporate rollocks and that is all anybody will get if they ask a decent question about, for example, was it always intended that none of the Tevez money be spent on the team and why were the fans not told that Walker could leave in January.

So people want them to talk and answer their questions, but when they invite people to do so, they won't because its "pointless"?

They can't win whatever they do, why bother complaining and asking the questions if you won't ask the people that can answer them?

I understand that Foxy - fair enough, but from my perspective - there is not a cat in hell's chance of McCabe answering a detailed question on Tevez money and what the benefit of Chengdu is to SUFC Ltd.

The last thing we need are a few gentle questions about a disappointing season, too many loans but a bit of bad luck - questions which they can easily bat away.

Do you think McCabe has a good track record of speaking openly and clearly? WIll he answer questions about his personal financial position and what impact that is having on United - no (and he doesn't have to) but that is what I'd like to know more about. I've said before I'd rather he keep shut than come out with the corporate nonsense and halfd-truths.

Also, I agree with Len, the timing is a joke. What do you think these 'myths' are that Birch is on about?

I actually sent an email asking if I could go and be able to ask Mr McCabe why he thinks it would be of benefit to me to renew my season ticket.
I will let you know if I get to go and ask the question.
I imagine it will be easier to get a direct answer from a politician

Ask them...
Who owns the freehold at BDTBL :D

and you've decided that how? have you tried asking him? if you haven't then how can he answer or ignore you?

The last thing we need are a few gentle questions about a disappointing season, too many loans but a bit of bad luck - questions which they can easily bat away.

Then go and ask him the ones that aren't the "last thing we need"? What do you think he's going to do if you ask him? press a button and drop you into the shark tank beneath the undersoil heating?

Do you think McCabe has a good track record of speaking openly and clearly?

Yes.

Depends on what exactly the question is, is your beef with him that he won't tell you how much his Mrs spends in Tesco whilst we are dropping our wage bill (like everyone else)?

Also, I agree with Len, the timing is a joke. What do you think these 'myths' are that Birch is on about?

When else should they have done it? given that we don't know what is coming between now and then or the decisions being made behind closed doors. There may be a reason for their timing, there might not be.

I intend to find out about the 'myths' Birch speaks of by going along and giving him the opportunity to tell me, rather than having a dig at him on here without finding out for myself.

I really don't understand the logic. You want questions answered, but won't ask them. You want people to tell you, but won't give them the opportunity to answer you or prove your theory right.

Is it that you'd rather not have the difficult situation of having to come round to their way of thinking? or something else? because I'm genuinely not sure.

One question...... Aren't you pleased that in being chairman of Sheffield United you have one of the biggest bunch of losers supporting the club? A bunch with no ambition who would never feel fit to question anything you do because you are, you really and truly are SUPERBLADE, the best chairman in the world EVER and to that end, they go all starry eyed in your presence and fall at your feet

It's a pointless exercise because no matter what bollocks he spouts some of you will believe it. Ask him how the Europe in 5 years plan's going, ask what happened to only replacing players going out with better players coming in, in fact ask whatever you like, you know the answers already

(Big Mart waits for Judgeys inane rambling reply without baited breath..... :bomb: )

:gallop:

If no-one asks the questions, then you will never get the answers.

He's said nothing for months, and been heavily criticised for it. When he gives the opportunity, suddenly all you tigers turn into pussycats.

What the fishsticks has 'timing' got to do with it? Do I get the idea that it may be the source of yet another ill founded conspiracy theory..? I'm with Foxy. Why do I get the feeling that you wouldn't be happy no matter what he did..?

Sumbody asked me ...When do yer know McCabe is tellin porkies ? ... I don't know says me ....... When his fookin lips move

Ask him if its true.

Oh i'm not going ................BUT i have emailed Mr McCabe again ... nice n gentle :D bet yer a tenner he don't reply.

Or alternatively, you could sit at home critisising the blokes asking for questions and having a go at the other Blades that can actually be arsed to go and ask them.

Then in a few months time, have a go at them for being quiet and not telling fans anything, and repeat.

What the fishsticks has 'timing' got to do with it?

Well for me that's a simple one. It's simply timed too late. We're in the middle of a season ticket sales period, and the silence from the board has been deafening, in times when we've needed some leadership more than ever - as you have pointed out yourelf. It's good that they're bothering - but really - AFTER the season ticket discount deadline?

It's not as though McCabe has got anything else to do with his time. He sits around on his arse all day. Why couldn't he talk to us next week?

The 'timing' may simply be the first occasion that they can get the two guys together for two consecutive evenings. How should I know, but I dont immediately think that it is part of a carefully orchestrated smokescreen, or that it is by pure incompetance either..?

Well, bearing in mind that all those who are most vocal about 'getting answers' seem to be washing their hair, and the only thing that they state will make a difference to their ST purchase is whether Blackie is still manager, it seems to be a bit self defining really. I doubt that the announcement is going to be that Blackie is leaving, and as they dont believe anything else that McCabe says, then the timing is surely academic?

I think there will be some interesting stuff but is there really anything that they are likely to say that will have everyone rushing to the ticket office..?
