Give over Trig.
It's perfectly reasonable to see this as a complete and utter charade with the entirely predictable guff trotted out once again.
Birch has already done it with his pointless notes the other day.

Another newsflash for you SotonBlade, thousands of fans are walking away from SUFC and deciding they've had enough.
Outrageous, ain't it? I mean who do they think they are, just packing it in?
Jeez, the club's holding a Q&A after the deadline to tell them everything's ok and it's still not good enough.
Just no pleasing some people.

can I just ask why having it after the ST deadline makes one bit of difference. They aren't ceasing to sell them after the deadline are they. You can still go and buy one after the deadline. The fact they are doing a Q&A at all, for the second time in less than a year, is a lot more than what most other clubs would do, whether the speak what some of you call 'bullshit' or not. If they hadn't have done this they would be accused of doing nothing, now they have, it's not soon enough.

Well NEWSFLASH, the world doesn't revolve around certain people and how and when they think things should happen. Live with it, just don't go moaning about on here. Fair play to the club for doing it at all, because if I read all the drivel the likes of lenners is coming out with on here, I'd cancel the chuff!

I would have thought that a genuine attempt to speak to the fans would have involved talking sense to the fans well before the deadline so that as many as possible would renew inspite of having suffered a truly disgraceful season in terms of entertainment and hope for the future.

It is blindingly obvious (to me) that Len is right that Birch will have the answers ready now in advance of the questions and anyone who says otherwise is extremely deluded - in my opinion!!!!!

Apologies, I seem to have misread numerous of your recent posts when you appeared, quite noticeably by your standards, to criticise the club for the very same thing.

UTB

I have said that there needs to be some visible leadership, and this is the first bit of the 'visible' part we have seen in a while. However, now they are going to sit there and do a Q&A then it is a start.

I have never said that we are supposed to expect something earth-shattering in terms of news revealed, nor do I believe that sacking Blackwell, nor any other piece of news they share will suddenly lead to a rush to the ticket office. I just dont get why so many of my fellow posters are taking the line of 'we want answers but we wont ask the questions because we dont believe the answers, and its all too late anyway'. What the feck is that about..?

UTB, indeed...

If he wasn't able to answer your questions, then wouldn't he be incompetant? What do you expect, ffs..?

Thats it. I'm finished with this thread...

That's all about exactly where SUFC are at the moment.
Disinterest, apathy, scepticism, all of which fit perfectly with a club that couldn't be arsed to try to sell season tickets and puts a half-arsed attempt at communication a week after the deadline.
It's a fundamental failure of management.

Will you be going to raise this issue? or will you be busy again?

Is there a reason why fans are getting critisised by the administrators of a forum who's home page was all about Blackwell out not so long ago.

IMO if they had something to say that we all wanted to hear ...ie a transfer budget for once they would have been shouting it from the rooftops since when the renewal prices were released !

UTB, indeed...

Contrary to what you believe, agreeing with every line that comes from BDTBL, just because it's come out of BDTBL, wont make things better either.

Forget Little looking like the best player we have by a country mile, Ellis says he didn't try harder earlier, so you put more credence on a pre season friendly at Bury (Ignoring the Lincoln match where he impressed) than you do on the most recent, competetive football we've played.

When I type UTB it's because that's what I want. I refuse to buy every line that is thrown my way, just because it's in red and white wrapping.

UTB, Indeed....

Who am I critisising?

Our home page was a members post, not neccessarily the view of the administrators.

Everything posted on here is not neccessarily the administrators view and never will be, the whole point is that we are a community of fans, not a sounding board for Administrators/Mods.

They aren't panicking because they have an ace in the hole which will get people renewing after the deadline. People will want to renew and will only have themselves to blame and have to pay the higher rate.
The club have seen the amount of renewals and seem very calm, not rushed out press released, no claims of death threats, no comment about the manager or transfer budget. All tried and tested ways of stimulating ST sales. They have an announcement up their sleeves which is why we are hearing nothing while there are matches to be played.
Mr Birch even said in his programme notes that Pemberton was his first senior appointment, he won't be his last this year.

I'd like to believe Bob but what's the substance?

I guess we will have to wait and see. I can't say it's 100% nailed on because my contacts around the club aren't that good. But as I posted a while back I heard a whisper, which seems to be gathering pace and more substance.

The problem is they have one degree of separation, yes I'm living in hope but as I get more snippets I become more confident that there will be a change and that it is already resolved.

The downside is that because most of us would be like me, and want it to be true you start making it fit.
I can't post who's told me what else I'll just not get told anything again and with the mood of senior management at the club in regards to leaks people could lose their jobs. Not that it would add any credibility because I could name anyone and it doesn't make it more or less true.

All I will say is the original whisper came from within the club at a senior level, since which everything has gone very very quiet. The other 3 confirmations of the same rumour came from 2 other clubs which is why I'm starting to believe it may be true.

Going by your reply you can also see that having some kind of announcement would be the only way to get ST moving and they do seem pretty relaxed.

Hey ho, if United let me down it won't be for the first time, but what if? I need these what if moment in the close season to keep me going the rest of the time. Don't take them away from me.

Just can't see it Bob. The club's best bet on renewals is before the deadline and it would have to be big news to make any difference afterwards.
Much as I'd like to see someone like Sean O'Driscoll given a long term chance I equally can't see his appointment making a big difference to sales.
A difference, but not earth-shattering.

Let's hope we get the opportunity to see plus the renewal date can always be put back as it has been elsewhere.

But for once I understand why you are sceptical.

HERE you go chaps, you can get me and Foxy in trouble instead of being brave enough to ask them yourself ;)
