Wilder doesn’t appear to be panicking just yet or getting too frustrated so I can’t see why we should. Just under 3 weeks left. A lot can happen yet. As for your McGoldrick comment, do you really see him as our main target? Jake Wright and Leon Clarke to name but 2 have been uninspiring signings the wrong side of 30 who have proven us all wrong and made significant contributions. Wilder won’t get them all right but I’m happy to wait and see

I don't know if you are an S6 infiltrator or not, but if you are indeed a Blade then this comment alone shows that you either don't watch many games and / or don't know a lot about our current squad.

Basham barely missed a minute last season, or the one before, or the one before that from what I recall. Probably the fittest player I have ever seen in a Blades shirt and he seems to get stronger as the season goes on.

Clarke didn't miss many games last season and when he did it was down to injury not fitness.

Sharp has looked fitter than he has in his whole career since he came back to us and the only reason he won't start is because we have better players in front of him.

As for Duffy, he is normally subbed around 60-70 minutes in order to accommodate any stamina issues, thereby ensuring he is kept fresh for the next match.

And his stamina issues were a knock on as he wasn't fit at the start of the season due to having a bambino and missing some preseason fitness stuff I believe, he played some 90s later in the season. Should be fine this season.

Can’t help but think there is a bit of football snobbery going on because we’ve not brought in some eye catching names yet.

I absolutely love our first choice midfield. Coutts, Fleck and Duffy gave us great joy last year and the one before. At their ages Fleck and Coutts can get better and Duffy’s game is more about vision than raw pace. Both Lundstram and Evans will be on an upward curve and gained valuable experience to nurse Coutts back and provide depth.

They may be in their 30s but no duo got as many as Leon and Billy last year.

We went without Freeman’s directness last season and he’s back too.

Yes, they need help.

We need competition for Leon and Billy so when it’s not happening we can change without decreasing the quality.

Stearman is decent but if we can upgrade then great and whilst we hope Holmes comes good, another attacking option will help us be more consistent and absorb injuries and form loss.

Just 4 players and we’ll have a good side again and this year we’ll have depth of quality too.

Will they all be sexy names? Maybe not. Will Wilder have a team that does up proud? I reckon so.

Appreciate it's a forum for sharing views but I suspect people will be a bit embarrassed at the crying & complaining over not getting targets in yet come the end of the transfer window.

Wilder has said we are after a higher caliber of player which take longer to complete - that must be a good thing. People wont let assets go cheaply or without seeing what the market looks like

In an ideal world the 4/5 signings wilder wants would be here now but we have bids in and he seems confident of getting some over the line.

Will we sign all our first choices... NO! We are certain to miss out on some, that's football

Will we improve the squad... YES (imo.) Everyone is working hard to make this happen.

Barely any business has been done yet - things will hot up as the PL clubs start finalizing their squads. Some patience and perspective wouldn't go amiss.
