It might not have been said in that specific Tweet, despite being alluded to, but it was said. The 'two in permanently' was discussed on here at the time. What's now being suggested is obviously more than that.

I can only assume you've seen something that I haven't if you thought we'd be looking at getting a load of new players in. Did someone suggest this somewhere?

Whilst N'Diaye situation complicates things I imagine that that accounts for 1 or 2 of the 5 Darren is referring too.

I suspect that 2 of the players he is talking about will be loans probably domestic and they won't land till late in window more than likely. (Doyle possible but only as a loan because remember we are skint in relative terms as a PL club).

So 1 or 2 are as a result of Iliman leaving, but only 2 days ago Darren said "expect a replacement to happen very swiftly, we've been in contact throughout and now he's off...." Clearly that might not be the case.

I don't want to bash the club, but I do think it's fair to say that in the last 3 seasons our transfers in policy is extremely slow at times...
I suspect that in the positive way that the Prince doesn't say just say yes to fee's for our players and a negotiating process which takes time takes place.
The same occurs for players in... but the negative with that regards signing players is that it takes longer or in fact other clubs swoop in too.

Darren lets his emotions come out with his tweets a bit and feels he’s had a bashing online.
Tensions are probably a bit high so he’s letting the pessimistic view come out.
The only thing we can do is wait and see.

The last few transfer windows have been fairly positive in relative terms looking at the clubs overall position.

Losing N’Diaye is wank rolled in wank but I reckon we’ll be relatively pleasantly surprised come close of the window.

I’m not defending the club as I feel a bit disheartened for the new season having lost our best player and seemingly having the lowest budget in the league but the window is a long way off being shut. If we can unearth a gem like Anel for £3m I’m hopeful Slimane and Traore could be gems too.

There was talk of us using the N’Diaye money for two forwards.

We could end up with two more forwards, a couple of midfields and Trusty in by the end of the window and everything will look better

Who is part of the shower you mention. We knew at the outset we had a limited budget and it has been disclosed several times how we had to go about recruiting. We now have got a slight change in circumstances due to the whim of an individual player. The sale has not even been confirmed yet and it’s not as if we are getting a massive wind fall. I’m sick of people joining the forum just to have a dig.
A very good player has gone where we will try to adapt our play around. That is the true test. There will be incomings but no world beaters. We already knew we would struggle with or without Illy.

The plan should change from quality loans to secure promotion to permanent signings to build for survival. Even if they’re £2 million here or there players. Because if not we will be horribly exposed next season.

From my understanding the loaning of players was done to cut players costs while recruiting quality, honestly, I can’t say it didn’t work on the pitch we finished in the playoffs and then got promoted, however, our club has made the advantages of that ideology impossible to bear the fruits of our labour.

For example we do well, develop another clubs player (MGW,Doyle,Mcatee,Henderson) and that player in our team is key to our successes, unfortunately, said player, is now worth a tonne more at the end of the season and signs a new ridiculously expensive contract at they parent club. We then don’t have the cash to re-loan or attempt to by them. It’s a merry-go round of success followed by the loss of talent and then scratching around for a new replacement. It’s a short term gamble and not beneficial in the long run for SUFC. Great for wolves £40m up and Man City. I understand people can say “but we have a proven track record of developing players so we can keep getting good players on loan” but it doesn’t work in premier league if we’re loaning from a club in the same division all it says is the player isn’t deemed ready to play.

Hence our position today. We are weaker than last season, and that’s not really how it’s supposed to work. I just hope our team’s do or die mentality can keep us up.
