Only me who likes Brewster?

They, 70's doctors, rebuilt this guy into a super human for only 6 million dollars. Our doctors have rebuilt Rhian for about the same. With today's technology, Brewster should run rings, literally, around the opposition next season.

Unfortunately they couldnt find the parts they used on the 6 million dollar man so had to make do with Lego for Brewster. Have you seen the price of it nowadays !

Seriously if he can stay fit for longer than 5/6 matches it will be like we signed a new player.....

5 goals in 3,214 minutes as a Sheffield United player
16 senior goals at 24 years old

"Tremendous finisher"
With another 22 goals he'll beat Danny Cadamateri's career tally of 37 goals in 18 seasons.

The lad's got time on his hands yet. Don't rush him.

He will stay fit and score loads of goals next season.

Its his last contacted season ? you what that means he will be off for nowt.
Half correct, this is Sheffield United after all.

Brewster surprises us all and scores 10 goals by Christmas staying injury free. Wilder decides to offer Rhian a new deal but his agent tells him not to sign it yet as we're down in 8th place in the league. "Keep scoring lad and a newly promoted team or another Premier League team might snap you up in the summer."

Rhian finishes the season on 25 goals, we fail to get promoted and Brewster walks for free. To add insult to injury he goes on to have a successful career.

That's the Sheffield United Way.

I think he’s a better player, with a better attitude, than Archer. It’s just a pity he can’t stay fit for a sustained period.
Is this ‘better attitude’ based on him making an idiot of himself on the town hall balcony…he is not in Archers league as a player/professional….all the negative comments on here about RB are based, in the main, on facts. The worst Blades signing ever by a country mile.

So unlucky with injuries but i reckon he will be like a new player for us next season.
Tremendous finisher who could get a bucket full of goals in the Championship.
I everyone blind?

50/50 on Brewster. Half of me thinks with an injury free run and a bit of luck/confidence he could get a hatfull....the other half of me thinks he is a bang average sicknote...

I said this last time we went down about him and jebbison striking up a lethal partnership..

You're not alone in optimism, but look how that turned out.

Well he’s got one year left to show it , do I think his hamstrings are up to 46 game Championship season playing weekends & mid week ... No..but we’re stuck with him regardless for another season , but I certainly wouldn’t be planning a team selection around him !
The same goes for McBurnie , Baldock , RND , Bogle , Lowe et al .. whose contracts are up we cannot continue to carry crocks & moreso on reduced money if we are gonna hope to have a chance .
The injury situation has been one of the main factors in our downfall.

I just can’t imagine that someone’s bad luck with injuries will change when it’s been so unlucky for so long. Clearly his hamstrings are knackered.

Tarred unfairly with the 23.5M brush. Not his fault his previous club and Agent had our pants down. Clearly he's not been worth that to us. Maybe his body is that crook that the story would have been the same no matter where he'd have gone but you only have to look across our injury record from the last few years to see the club could, very easily, be seen to be partly at fault for Rhians torrid time.

FWIW I'm still optimistic (probably partly due to me not wanting the money to be a complete waste) but there have been glimpses of a player. He seems like a top lad and credit has to be given to the mental fortitude he's shown to keep coming back. Bottom line is though, he HAS to make a huge contribution next season or his career is over IMO.

Interesting subject who have we paid good money for with very little appearances

Obviously John Ebbrell,
James Wallace another.

I hope one day someone can ram this down my throat when he scores 25 goals in a season for us but…..

He’s absolutely fucking crap.

He has no idea positionally what to do on a football pitch, he shoots from miles away when he gets it, he runs around like a demented Labrador trying to look busy.

Seriously, if you’ve seen ‘talent’ in Brewster it’s not been in a Blades shirt because he’s done nothing in his time here to suggest he’s anything other than a massive waste of doctors bills, transfer fees and wages.

Good cheerleader though.
I don’t think he’s absolute crap

Why ? Because he’s not been on the pitch long enough to form a real objective opinion either way .

If only we could get the player v wolves away - now that would be exciting. Do I think he will stay fit enough ? No .

A real enigma

Do we have a years option on OM?

Sadly I think he will finish his career at somewhere like Mansfield/ Swindon type clubs. It's been a extremely expensive signing, I actually feel for the lad, but wage wise and transfer fee for a club what's skint, it's been a disaster!!

We didn't pay good money for Wallace, we bought him because he was cheap as chips. When we signed him he already had an injury record comparable to Brewster's career with us.

We could have spent good money at the time in signing Conor Coady back or by meeting Hibs asking price for Clough's
first choice, John McGinn.

No, it’s based on the fact when he’s on the pitch (too infrequently, yes) he doesn’t pull out of 60:40 challenges in his favour like Archer does and he actually puts a bit of effort in, unlike Archer.

My main worry with Brewster is the unpredictable elements of a game will hold him back, the kind of thing training doesn’t account for.

An adrenaline fuelled extra sprint, a falling twist, landing awkwardly, being shoved over, bad tackles etc etc.

They’re the kind of thing a player gets over after a few games rest, Brewster seems to take a season due to the fragility of his muscles, tendons, whatever.

He also doesn’t seem to realise his level, which is probably an impact sub. Chasing the ball for 90 minutes increases the risk of any of the above happening PLUS general fatigue and strain.

He’s 100% got the right attitude and shouldn’t be blamed for his price tag / wage, but equally we have to accept as a fan base he was a risk even when we were flying and set expectations accordingly.

His gravestone will eventually say ‘7/10 performance at Wolves away in 2024’

Clutching at straws trying to use one half decent performance in 4 years where he touched the ball 26 times as ‘proof’ he might come good.
