One more match to end the season, against the mighty Scunthorpe.

So who is going to be a hypocrite and say we don't play our full team, or don't try, just like what Man United did against wet spam.

I think we should try and win.

Who cares if Barnsley get in the play offs. They'd only have a 1 in 4 chance of winning the thing.

What the team should be focussing on is giving us a decent performance to at least end the season on a positive note.

The fans deserve it.

I predict Scunthorpe and Barnsley both to lose.

I predict a draw, a few lone groans of "sack the board" that come to nowt, and everyone shuffles out in a big cloud of "meh".

A bit like the season really.

The players will take a peek from the tunnel entrance to see if anyone has stayed for the end of season applause, see we've all fooked off, then drive home in their undeserved 4x4s*

*Except Billy Sharp

If Cloughy could have us beat promotion-chasing Rotherham, with 16 year-old Louis Reed starring among a team of kids, then I don't really see what terrors Positive Nige faces in showing us, finally, that his fabled "Pathway for Youth" isn't just a figment of the imagination.

It's Scunthorpe we're playing, not Borussia Dortmund.

If Adkins wants to do his old mates a favour he should play the first team!

I would hope that we go for a resounding victory. At least to show some basic respect for us poor bastards who have suffered through the season.

Harry I hear ya - most unlikely I'll bother my arse to get down from Windermere at that time to watch that shower. First time I can ever remember not being there for the last game of the season, but FFS it's getting to the point where if it wasn't for the company, the pre-match banter, the quality beer and the chips and curry, I probably wouldn't have lasted this long, and after watching them since 1970 it doesn't make me happy to say that.

We'll win. For the first time ever, I won't be staying for the lap of honour.

he game is as meaningless as this season has been. Give the kids a run. drop anyone not featuring next season. Doing this is hardly going to make us less likely to win. It's all about next season and that starts today.

I've had the day booked off work for a while. I should really cancel it and use the holiday for something useful but I won't. Silly really as there's a good chance I won't bother leaving the pub. If I do make it in I will cheer if we score but let's be honest which would cause the most entertainment, beating Scunny or hopefully fucking Barnsley up?! I know it's shallow but it would make me chuckle for a few seconds before I forget about Barnsley again. Mind you I don't like the idea of watching Scunny fans celebrating either although I'll be back in the pub before the final whistle.

Why anyone would still be in the ground for a lap of honour is beyond me.

Why Sheffield United would be considering doing a lap of honour is beyond me.

I'm off to my Caravan in Bridlington For the weekend sorry, had enough this year.

'Caravan in Bridlington'? Fuck me. Are things that bad?

Seriously, the players should do a lap of honour. That will give them one last chance to see a proper (if near-empty) stadium before the fuckers get binned off to where they belong - Accrington, Fleetwood etc. Keep Billy, Che and Long. The rest are a disgrace.

It's been Scunthorpe's peer group every week.

I have a feeling he will give two or three debuts next week. It gives the youngsters a chance and keeps the supporters off his back if we lose

I'm just glad it's going to be over. I don't care much about the match, the selection, the playoffs, Barnsley or Scunthorpe. I just want a break. Then pray those fuckers in S6 don't win the playoffs.

Adkins must be chuffed that even though weve failed Scunthorpes still in with a chance
How good is it they could beat us and be in the play offs , as they won their game yesterday they needed to win
perhaps nigel can ask their manager how its done

I scunny win and snatch 6th we can at least see what celebrating fans look like

I have the day booked off too as I have 2 options on this day. Was looking forward to last match in the hope there would be something still to play for, as it is I can't see any point in going. Result is irrelevant to us and I won't be "appreciating" the players after the match, they have not earned it.

At the final whistle.
The supporters should be allowed to congregate on the pitch and the players, officials and Board men sit in the stand and clap us as we walk the four sides of BDTBL.

Let the stewards hold them back for a change.

Erm. Do you realise that Accrington will be playing at Bramall Lane next season?

Fucking Accrington!

Who are they?

they used to be a biggish team pre WW1 when they lost pretty much their entire first 11 in ten minutes on the Somme ;)

This would be the perfect time for fans to stay away en-mass and show the board, management and players the contempt that they are held in. Course it won't happen because people are more concerned with getting their Blades fix rather than trying to get their Blades fixed.

For the record, I hope Scunny beat us and pip those six fingered, inbred cunts just up the M1 to the play-offs.

I'm not one for usually advocating the classic phrase "throw the kids in", but give them a game, the pressure is off. I hope I'll never see the following in a Sheffield United shirt again..

Ryan Flynn - The contract earning king, turns it on when the contract is ticking out (admittedly our fault for paying inflated wages)
Jay McEv - Not a playboy, or a tattooed, grey goose wanker type but obviously not going to get any better, despite some decent performances of late, which says it all.
David Edgar - Not good enough, sorry but we should really look for better.
Woolford - Obviously not a starter, not good enough again and is probably league 2 at best.
Sammon - Probably no chance he will be here next season (I hope!)
Hammond - Look at getting a more athletic, younger version. Don't think he deserves the abuse he gets sometimes.
Cuvelier - Injuries have fucked him up, nice lad probably a player in there but he's not pulled up any trees.

I'm pretty sure the following will be gone..

McNulty, not good enough.
Freeman, not good enough.
Baxter, twat.
Scougall, Wembley aside, he seems to have regressed (not good enough).
Diego, not good enough.
Kennedy, injured.
J Wallace, injured.
Howard, no point him being here.
JCR, not good enough.
Bob Harris, not sure, but i'd prefer Wallace at LB.

Hopefully this happens, what a mess were in as we'll really have to recruit.
