OLLIE MCBURNIE

Heckys interview was quite revealing when he refused to say what he had said to Oli. I'm guessing "stop being such a title and concentrate on your football"

Exactly what I was going to post

I can’t recall him in a Blades shirt having a better game than he did today

Thought he was brilliant and the rest of the team did great as well
I remember when we beat Chelsea 3-0, and he’d bullied Christensen so much he had to be subbed at half time - today was the same, bullied the defence, won absolutely everything, scored twice, assisted one, linked up play, held the ball up, superb

This is simply not true. I don't know if you were one of them but plenty of our fans were convinced McBurnie had nothing to offer at this level--not just that he was playing badly, which he was, but that he simply wasn't good enough. Those people have been proven absolutely wrong.
I'm not entirely sure I'd call myself a doubter. Certainly one of his biggest critics and for good reason. He wasn't offering anything, he looked half arsed and basically uninterested in being here, playing him was a waste of time for everyone. He certainly had something to offer but wasn't offering it, he wasn't good enough.

I love seeing those who slagged off ANYBODY saying there was a player there now singing his praises.

Maybe should make you reflect on how and why you judge players.

That’s me 😁

A few months ago I named him Ollie ā€œno goalsā€ McBurnie

I now name him Ollie ā€œgoal madā€McBurnie and if he carries on like this, potentially player of the season, due to his come back after being written off by many (including me)

I wouldn't swap you for Erling Haaland, but that's because he's injured.

But joking aside, MAGNIFICENT since his goal at Luton. Scoring, defends, holds it up.

Winning every doubter round!
Class mate absolute class, shows what proper application does for you

Love to see players who get a lot of hate turning things around!šŸ’Ŗ

And seriously, it would be a risk swapping him for Haaland! šŸ˜….....but if you're reading Erling, you can join as back-up lad šŸ‘Œ
Agree it’s always nice to see anyone turn it around, really pleased for Robinson too.

Disagree with any hate towards McBurnie but I definitely agreed with the negative criticism, He was decent in his 1st season in the PL but after that he’s not even looked average Championship standard.

I tried to remain patient but even I was starting to write him off as a bad buy and thought his career would be at league 1 standard but as he’s playing for his future it’s sharpened his mind and he’s regularly producing the form from his Swansea days, so deserves massive credit.

As ever, criticise performances, form and nonsense off the pitch. But never write off. We've all been proven wrong far too many times before and you'd think lessons would be learnt.

I think the biggest change in his game recently is his mobility.

A lot of fans, me included, thought he was too static off the ball - he put that theory to bed today.

He was a menace both in the box and dropping short for the ball.

10/10 performance today.

Playing untouchable ahead of hernia surgery. What are they putting in the pain killing injections, keep them coming.

Phenomenal, played out of his skin again today, and still carrying that hernia!!!
Whatever they're doing with him in traing, and whatever hes done over the past few months has been an absolute revelation!!! Brilliant, and Ndiaye also, this pairing is fantastic, long may it continue!!!
COYRAWW!!

Best display I’ve ever seen from him (well, maybe 2nd best after Chelsea home).

The standout performance on an excellent day. Keep it up!

Amazing what happens with a bit of confidence, a run of games, and a bit of luck here and there.
We as fans need to learn to support players when struggling, it really does make the difference.
He would have known full well he was off it and been his own biggest critic, the last thing needed is to be ridiculed and abused by your own fans.

Hey ho….wonder who the next target will be.

Bloody great he is on fire. He has sorted him self out big time.

All this whilst playing with a hernia. He’s had some properly rotten luck with injuries & COVID but he seems to have come out the other side of it now & is playing like the Ā£25 million player we paid for in 2019.

Well in Oli lad.
This

His touch today was wonderful, he had previously looked so clumsy.
confidence has meant that he is not rushing things
