Sadly £10m is the new £3m nowadays though. Especially to Villa who are spending like it's out of fashion.

He's a proven performer in the PL and also brings leadership. He's 33 but they'll still get 2/3 years out of him.

Again though, I'm still happy we've got Henderson for another year.

£10m plus another £6m on wages for someone that will have no residual value is very expensive IMHO and makes the 1 year agreement for Henderson look even better value. This pretty much typifies the difference in approaches between Utd and Villa.

2) Trezeguet 8m - Again, coming at a time where we didn't have our full quota of strikers, we really missed out on this one. 8m for a world cup winning centre forward - we should have been all over this like Pasta man in a spaghetti market.

I don't disagree with you mate. However, I don't think Villa are looking at it in terms of resale value. If they get two good years out of Heaton and establish themselves as a PL club again, the outlay spent on him will seem miniscule. Even more so with their finances.
