I would certainly prefer McBurnie. I see similarities in Maupay with Sharp in terms of the types of goals he scores which isn't a negative at all but McBurnie scores a variety of different goals whether it's from cross, running in behind or driving at defenders and getting a shot off. He's comfortable at striking with both feet and scored some brilliant headed goals last season as well. I think there may be more excitement around Maupay than Mcburnie because he's French and some would like to see some foreign players coming in but for me, McBurnie is the better player of the two.
I'm not understanding the Maupay hype at the moment and I don't think he's worth the reported transfer fee (he's only had one good season) ...that said, he's the perfect replacement for Sharp in our system, so I'd see it as a 'planning for the future' signing, which I can totally get behind.
