Hopefully Brooks can get a loan too to get some useful experience. Another who’s looked very comfortable on the few occasions he’s played - one being against Spurs, as well.
 

Blaster going out suggests the 1st team will have strength in depth through midfield. Which means we're bringing people in. Double win IMO. Blaster gets man's game experience, we get experienced players, ready to push him down the pecking order, until Fleck finally bows out next season.
 
Not sure why, but some fans really seem to underestimate the value of instilling confidence into youngsters that they can make it as a professional footballer. You need that when you go up through the levels to help you get over challenging periods, you have the experience to know you’ve over come it before.
Playing regularly at a level that you’re ultimate too good for by the end of the season would be massive for many of our players and set them up well in their careers.
If he goes and smashes it from the off, we can always reassess and loan him elsewhere in Jan.
What we want is a player ready for a top 6 Championship side in 2024/5 and this helps him get there.
 
Looking at the current England squad, a large number of them had loans in the lower divisions early in their careers. It’s become a routine part of the pathway to regular EPL game time.

Couldn’t agree more. The worst case of him being too good for that level is him having the experience of being the star man for 6 months and we can then send him to a club in the championship. Seems a better approach than loaning him to the championship and finding out he’s not at that level yet and him not getting regular minutes and knocking his confidence.

There are at least 4 others we should be doing the same with, so long as they sign new deals first of course, namely Jebbo and Osula assuming we have the numbers come the start of the season.
 
Glad to see that we've got some quality players coming out of our Academy right now with the likes of Osula, Amissah, Neal, Arblaster, Brooks, Sadchev, Boyes and Buyabu either getting some minutes or loans to help with their development. Hopefully we will see the rewards of their development in the coming years.

Think we now have to ask for him back. I did say it was a daft decision.
 
Played from the start tonight in the league cup. Think he set a goal up. Tried getting the game online but couldn’t find it.
 

Improving game by game by the looks of it, even though Hecky acknowledges that it was a mistake to let him go out on loan after Fleck's injury left us light in midfield but tbh playing regularly for a team will be a lot more beneficial for him the long run than just playing in the odd game here and there.
 
Shame we can't get him back in January when he'll have played a good few minutes and be an option for us then.

So we put one of our most promising talents,in the shop window, and run the risk of others snapping him up for a song,before getting him signed up to a new contract.

Not having our best young talents tied down long term is ridiculous
