Old United games on You Tube

I do keep checking on You Tube, my hope is that one day a video of United v Walsall will appear (I don't know why it was a depressing game, but a big moment in my childhood). I enjoyed seeing the videos you did of United in the 80s. I always thought Porterfield wasn't given the credit he deserved for that period.
It’s probably because Rotherham were televised winning the league on that day that our game wasn’t on.
It would be a morbid curiosity to see the Walsall game again but I understand why.
Porterfield did well to turn us round after the Haslam years.

Actually, that site is now

It's the Don Givens penalty I want to see , was it as bad as I remember? Were we that bad in 80/81? I saw the game we beat Swindon 3-0 to go top (it is on You Tube) and we played some really good football. We went down with a positive goal difference and we were only in the bottom four for a few minutes (sadly the most important minutes!) We really threw it away. Bobby Hatton will always be a favourite though.

It was a terrible penalty which summed up the season, which as you say started so well, the Swindon game was our 4th win in the first 5 games!!
There were some awful performances/results that season, especially away.We only won twice away all season the last one at Millwall in October. It wasn’t fun witnessing losing 4-0 at Newport for example..bad times!
Bob Hatton was probably the only good thing about that season & his partnership with Keith Edwards in 81/82 was brilliant.

I would like to know if any of Blades matches were on tv during the 1963-64 season. As far as I am aware, there were none. That season BBC refused to show Football League games (only Anglia and Tyne Tees bothered to have regular weekly shows). The following season BBC started MOTD

If anyone remembers a Blade match being on tv that season, please reply to this message.

You might find the answer poking around on here, it is laid out differently to when I looked years ago...

My old list says that we weren't televised on ITV between an away match at Ipswich in December 1962 and an away match at Sunderland in April 1965.

The link shows you list of matches on tv during the 1963/64 season. Not many footy matches on tv that season

Not sure if anyone here was around in 1952!

Quite a few of us actually .

In my case , and whilst I don’t remember that particular match I’m almost sure I would have been there . From 1950 onwards I was allowed to go on my own due to my Dad’s poor health and work commitments and missed very few home matches , especially FA cup ones which had a special appeal back then .

I think that’s John Harris playing for Chelsea.
