It was 3-2. The late Gary Rowell scored first, Peter Anderson scored twice and Steve Finnieston scored the third after a magical assist by Sabella. Bob Lee made it 3-2 near the end

Remember the game well , think they hammered us 6-2 up at Roker Park though in the return .. what happened to Richard Harwood ..can’t remember him playing the season after our first season in the old third division?

Richard played a few games before he got injured, not sure what happened to him after he left us. He and his wife are in Handsworth Blades Facebook group and when I chatted with him in the Facebook group a few years ago they were still attending Blades matches.

Won the FA cup but lost twice to Wednesday that season.

Swings and roundabouts.

Hockey and Addison, front left?
Yes, Trevor Hockey much travelled as a player, Colin Addison even more travelled as a manager.

And a contrast in the fickle finger of fate.

Addison born in 1940 died last year aged 85.

Hockey born in 1943 died aged 43 after a heart attack shortly after playing 5 a side

I saw Trevor Hockey play in Tony Currie's testimonial. That was an outing for the 1971 promotion winning team. Most were, to put it politely, rather heavier and rounder than in their playing days. Hockey was not, he raced around in midfield looking very fit. Ironically.
