mi - mic - mick - mick jones my all time favourite blades number 9 was heartbroken when wraggy sold him to leeds 😪⚔️
It's a shame that photo isn't in colour, what a fine shirt.

yes was on motd that night 1 - 1 replay was postponed twice once through fog and won that eventually 3 - 1 silent will know our scorers

oh yeah all white kit remember now that used to happen quite a bit in the 60s in cup replays

Apologies if this one's been posted before but this is Ted Drake being carried unconscious from the pitch for the second time in the same game, circa 1931. He came back on both times he was revived and despite having two broken bones in his wrist as well, he loved the game so much they just couldn't keep him down.

Modern day players should hang their heads in shame, and whilst I'm definitely not suggesting playing on with a concussion, rolling around screaming because someone brushed against you should be met with a lot more scorn than it is.

I started watchng United in 1961 and it was a few years later before just one substitute was allowed so yes it was 3 to 4 decades earlier.

First used for the 1965-66 season. Subs were allowed only if a player was injured but some weeks/months later you were allowed to bring on a sub even if a player wasnt injured.

Keith Peacock of Charlton was the first ever sub to come on in a league match replacing injured keeper Mike Rose.

Tony Wagstaff was our first sub replacing the injured Alan Birchenall at Fulham.
