Arsenal v Italy match?Apologies if this one's been posted before but this is Ted Drake being carried unconscious from the pitch for the second time in the same game, circa 1931. He came back on both times he was revived and despite having two broken bones in his wrist as well, he loved the game so much they just couldn't keep him down.
Modern day players should hang their heads in shame, and whilst I'm definitely not suggesting playing on with a concussion, rolling around screaming because someone brushed against you should be met with a lot more scorn than it is.

I started watchng United in 1961 and it was a few years later before just one substitute was allowed so yes it was 3 to 4 decades earlier.I think it was against Brentford, the link below might shed some light on it.
Was this the days before substitutes Silent?

A Shot in Time: Arsenal goalscoring hero Ted Drake, the knockout hit
MICHAEL WALKER - A SHOT IN TIME: Rampaging Arsenal striker Ted Drake once scored seven goals in a match at Aston Villa. It was the season after he had scored 42 in the league.www.dailymail.co.uk
First used for the 1965-66 season. Subs were allowed only if a player was injured but some weeks/months later you were allowed to bring on a sub even if a player wasnt injured. Was this the days before substitutes Silent?
