Excellent as per. HH., memories eh. Last two that is.
Second batch, a young JH, must be 1938, thanks for that, not seen it before.
Programme cover photos, tremendous, bringing back those seasons of my boyhood and early teens. JH with his deft and mesmerising ball skills and vision of a game as it unfolded before him. Ted Burgin, diminutive but agile, good hands and a confidence twice his frame, Fred Furness, deceptively quick, Albert Cox, staunch and hard to pass, Harry Hitchin awkward to beat with a distinctive running action of ramrod straight with minimal arm movement, tight to and across his chest, Harry Latham, 'they shall not pass' his mantra, honest, giving in endeavour and if rain about, Harry's shoulders would be the only red and white visible on his frame, Joe Shaw, this time period, neat, thinking footballer who went through games almost unnoticed because of his consummate anticipation, with good footwork, Alf Ringstead, diminutive, dribbler, quick of mind and feet with a hard and accurate shot, Len Browning brought in by Reg Freeman to do what he did, score goals, tall and difficult to defend, with his long legs and action style,17 in his only full season, promotion 1952-53, but sadly contracted, TB, diagnosed 1953-54 season, ending his footballing career, Harold Brook, creative and good eye for goal, both with head and feet, double figures five times out of his nine seasons, Derek Hawksworth speedy with good goal record, always seemed to play more relaxed on the cricket side, turned to centre forward, with some proficiency when Colin Grainger got in the side.

Games you forget about .. 3-0 victory over a good West Ham side at Easter 79 in our relegation season , other than beating Liverpool in the League Cup probably one of the best results of the season

He went on to be a bodyguard for The Pet Shop boys , saw him around 83 when they played the pigs at Hillsboro. About 40 Arsenal lads walking down High Street near Blue Bell heading for bus on Angel St .. man mountain

Ces Coldwell, left leg, only for standing on.
If he swung the left, dire emergencies only, it could go any where.
May his God Bless him, where ever he is, a Blades Stalwart etched in their history.Ces Coldwell.jpeg
