Not an old photo but we’re mentioned in dispatches in this article from Neil Sambrook he writes some good stuff around football from this era always worth a read if you were brought up watching football in the 70’s

Can anyone having a go at naming this England U21 line-up? There's some maddeningly familiar faces that I just can't put names to.
Back row Paul Haigh,Steve Williams,Steve Sims,Paul Bradshaw, Steve Hardwick,Paul Futcher, Graham Rix
Front row Peter Daniel,Keith Bertschin,Gary Owen,Laurie Cunningham,Peter Barnes, David Peach, Peter Reid, Paul Garner & Keith Edwards

Blades 2 (Woodward 2) Luton 1 (Jimmy Ryan) on 6th February 1971. Malcolm MacDonald had boasted in a newspaper article that he found centre backs in the 2nd division easy to play against. In that game Eddie Colquhoun had Macdonald in his pocket and then at the final whistle Eddie sarcastically slow-handclapped Malcolm off the pitch

Rovrum was my first away game, but 1979 when the wall fell down. Won 2-1, Barry Butlin and Jeff Bourne scored.

I refuse to speak about my 2nd away game 🤢
Rough wi't smooth for Blades, PB, in your own time.
I took our fourteen year old daughter, first time she'd seen grown men cry.

Saw that on Twitter yesterday, what a quality pic that is.. seen a few more lately of the really bad pitches, amazing pics from a bygone era with such terrible conditions which were the norm till a few decades or so back.
Got it off Facebook, joined the group so should get more like that.

Utd mentioned in dispatches again , when I looked at the league table for 1974-75 couldn’t believe his tight it was and lowest title winning points tally by Derby. This was 3 seasons but my first match at the Lane but found it an interesting read
