Didn't realise Mark Duffy (back row, centre) was playing for us way back then. 🤣

Come on you Blades!
Promotion to the top flight, FA Cup Winners and first ever qualification for Europe in the most bizzarely underwhelming and inconsistent season ever!!! Why not???

Yes!
Including keepers from other clubs who've played against SUFC.
Great subject. The only opposition goalie I can remember getting an ovation from the old kop for 2 different teams was the great Pat Jennings, for both Spurs and Arsenal. Fantastic keeper.

Blades 2 (Woodward 2) Luton 1 (Jimmy Ryan) on 6th February 1971. Malcolm MacDonald had boasted in a newspaper article that he found centre backs in the 2nd division easy to play against. In that game Eddie Colquhoun had Macdonald in his pocket and then at the final whistle Eddie sarcastically slow-handclapped Malcolm off the pitch

I’m heading for another failure here Silent but, didn’t Peter Shilton play in goal for Luton that match ?

Short answer, to see if there is enough interest to get a discussion going:
1. For United - Alan Hodgkinson
2. Opposition - Bert Trautmann

I am a child of that time
I haven't checked with the Internet but I have Shilton as Leicester rather than Luton
Please correct me if I'm wrong
True, I actually Wikkied Shilton’s career and he never played for Luton. Yes, Leicester at that time. I was only 8 in 1971 so my brain wasn’t fully developed back then 😆

Ray Clemence, Liverpool & Spurs.
Gordon Banks, Leicester & Stoke & Eddie Colquhoun Testimonial XI when blind in one eye!
And there's at least one more who actually returned to us playing for Southampton and Newcastle ;)
