September 1964, Won 3-1. 5 weeks later Bobby Moore was diagnosed with testicular cancer
I had to zoom in to that photo. Can’t believe how much Paul S looked like his dad Graham at around the same age.
Right ……. I’m going to have a massive stab at this photo. It’s Alex v the Pigs and the grunter is Brian Joicey. (Probably miles off !)

Looks like it was when we appointed Sirrel as our new manager although Sirrel insisted on serving a 1 month notice with Notts County. He missed the home game against Stoke (he was interviewed on MOTD from a studio that evening). In the next few days Notts County then told him that he didnt need to serve the 1 month notice

I remember reading about it in the papers in the train back home in the next day from my boarding school. I didnt understand what Sirrel meant by giving Notts County "a month's notice" so a senior pupil explained it to me.He was appointed on this very day Oct 16th in 75.
Some memory you have mate, I’m very jealous of it.I remember reading about it in the papers in the train back home in the next day from my boarding school. I didnt understand what Sirrel meant by giving Notts County "a month's notice" so a senior pupil explained it to me.
Cec Coldwell took charge of the home game against Stoke on the 18th and he was also busy giving treatment to Jim Brown who suffered a shoulder injury during the match.
I dont remember Cec Coldwell wearing glasses when he was on the pitch treating Jim Brown? Some memory you have mate, I’m very jealous of it.
