Seemed to spend about half of my young life at Bridge Street bus station.
Me too, catching the 47/48 bus to Shiregreen where my nan and my twin uncles lived also after I left school to Concord Park for football training on Thursdays, playing matches on Saturdays between 1979 to 1984.

Was there anything ever more 1960s in Sheffield than that "Newsagent" fascia?
Interestingly, on the spot you mention, there was, in the 19th century and early 20th, a pub combined with a standing theatre, no seats, putting on a music hall, variety style entertainment. Apparently, this configuration was popular at this time and The Grand Concert Hall was the last one left in Sheffield.
Wonder if the Idea would catch on these days?

Used to get the same bus from there up to my nan's at shiregreen. Woolens signs lit up to the rear of the bus stop. Think it's still there.
