I could get in every one of those buses for 2p. Two pence!
Our school bus had one of those machines that you dropped 2p into and pressed a green button on top and it printed a ticket with an ink smudged copy of the 2p on it. I had a ruse whereby I'd drop a pebble into the machine and then tell the driver it hadn't printed a ticket. He'd wave me on then I'd got enough for an ice lolly on the way home after school. Probably caused a load of damage and not something to be proud of with hindsight!!

My brother was a bus driver in those day and he was telling me the other day about the objects they found inside the machines (think they were called vendomatics) when they emptied them😂

The arts tower has/had a paternoster lift. First time I used it I thought WTF this can't be illegal or remotely safe.

I spent my university days on Floor 5 in the early seventies.

You were supposed to get out at the Lower Ground floor, but if there were schoolchildren there for interviews, or freshers, who’d clearly never seen one, we’d stay on and come up the other side standing on our heads. Hilarious it was.

This goes up for no other reason than this was the first United shirt I had bought for me. Bettered only by the yellow chevron design the following season.

Image result for Sheffield United 1975-6
Loved that shirt the yellow chevron one was the first kit of my own I had , the others were hand mi downs
