0-0 draw on Easter Monday 1974. I decided not to go to the match after seeing us lose 4-1 at Derby as I feared another defeat at L**ds who needed a few more points to clinch the title. I was surprised that we managed to get a point at Elland Road. In the next day L**ds came to Bramall Lane and gates were shut well before the kick off (ground capacity was reduced because the South Stand were still under construction), L**ds won 2-0. So the poster non Blades related has Pink Floyd, Steve Miller Band, Captain Beefheart and his magic band, Roy Harper and 2 others.
That's quite some line up, was it a festival somewhere ?
It's the programme for Knebworth 1975.

Woody's 2nd attempt in the 0-0 draw at home to West Ham in March 1973. The first attempt was placing the ball to the keepers left but Bobby Ferguson saved it. Ref ordered a re-take (cant remember if it was cos Ferguson moved from the line before the kick was taken etc). In his 2nd attempt, Woody went for power but the shot hit Ferguson's legs and the ball shot up high before it was cleared away.

I remember the game on Easter Monday, quite a bit of fisticuffs went on that night.

There was a lot of argy bargey on Easter Monday after the game. Six of us were attacked by around 20 of them walking down the road. We managed to fight them off and get back to the car telling them we'd sort them out at the Lane. Next day we were determined to find the perpetrators only to discover Leeds had taken the back of the Kop at 5 o'clock. The rest of the game was spent slowly forcing them towards the cricket pavillion end as Blades came up the steps where the Pukka Pie stand is now.

It kicked off at the final whistle big time, we never found the brave Weeds 20 from the day before.

His son, Ryan, was an excellent non league player. Played for Stocksbridge and Worksop. Ryan’s young daughter now plays for the Blades girls.
Steve ran the Hermitage or a while and between sponsors we based ourselves there. He was a good lad and came training with us ,before he moved to Aunt Sallys. His biggest claim to fame was that Peter Beardsley was his boot boy at Carlisle.

Steve also had the Woodseats Hotel for a short period of time and came across as being a really nice guy.

On the post ? He was a fixture in the Woodseats hotel until it turned into Foxys Indian ,going down the same road as Frain I reckon.

No. Repping. Haven't seen David for a long time. Heard he's not so good.

Hes in the Crown and Red Lion all the time ,on his own mainly , he may be happy but he doesn't look it.

SEB. As you can see from the above photos the one of TC on the right is a mock-up. Always thought as much. No badge and shirt looks artistically done. Good shirt though. Big give away is the sun, and the background.

Note to self. Get ready for some " No shit Sherlock" replies.

Who the hell was he???

I know this is an old post. I went to school with him, he was a year above.
Don't think he really settled to being a pro from what I heard.

"Scodger" Latham
Very tough centre half part of Hitchen, Latham and Joe Shaw.
There was a picture and report in the Star prior to a game v Wednesday showing his head with the caption ; here is the head to stop Dooley ;
Very hard and direct player who served us well and latterly as trainer.
Seems a long time ago now so suggest early 1950's
