Does Bert ever chuck anything away? Is Bert's house the size of Ikea or the Amazon warehouse?
Or is Bert one of these strange hoarder people who lives in a small terrace house and only has 3 square feet in which to complete all of life's complex tasks?

One day Channel 4 will make a documentary about Bert.

Got to agree with BornaBlade, #11059, Remember strong feelings, in general, that Blades could be the team to upset that Spurs side. Spurs were a great side but look at the following seasons results. 61-62 1-1 home losing 0-1 HT and Richardson scored. At WHL, 3-3, three goals away from home. 62-63 won 3-1 at home, 1-0 HT, lost 4-2 at WHL 1-0 HT. Would think that shows Blades were at least a match, plus "Gentleman" John Harris as manager, tactician.
Regards the other programme, 100 years of Sheffield Club, V Queens Park, oldest Scottish club. Must have been half term as remember going with mi mate and we didn't wag it. Can't remember score just went on the Terrace and it was cool and a little misty but then it often was in 1957.There was a quick report of the event on evening T/V news, think BBC, would love to see that again.

I will put up in the next post pictures of the programme for the Sheffield Club centenary match. It was an impressive Amateur team for that match, including Billy Russell. I think you are right about half-term, and I have a feeling the score was 2-2. It was quite a celebration, as there was a match at Hillsborough the night before, and I have included pictures of that programme as well. Second-rate event, as they didn't get Prince Philip for their game! Joking aside, I have posted a pic of their advertising for friendlies against European teams - they were quite a lot more forward-looking than United at that time.

Thanks for showing the programmes very interesting. Forgotten it was a select amateur team representing SC. Understand why because for many years prior '57 used, on away Satdis, to go to Abbeydale Park where SC played. Also Sheffield Teachers played there, with mens hockey, R Union and archery, for a young lad like me a good afternoon out. Totally forgot the Hillsborough game, found that intriguing, regards the "more forward looking" and I do agree summed up by Eric Taylor.
Going back to the SC team noticed the goalie played for Pegasus who played at the Lane during the 50's.What the match was I don't know, probably for Semi Final Amateur Cup, know I went. Any recollections?
