I doubt you’d have been any worse than Hunty.
Secretly I was possibly better than all four, even in goal ;). I can see what you mean when looking at the full photo of Hunt, my thoughts were how the hell he became pro with a body shape and legs like that. Having said that the most unlikely looking, amateur, footballer I played with was possibly the most skilful. A Celtic supporter he was your poor mans 'Jinking' Jimmy but from the inside forward position.

Hunt could take corners with either foot

Always an advantage, swing the ball into or away from the 'keeper from either wing, have used this to advantage myself but many, too many years ago. I can't for the life of me remember Hunt despite having ST at that period.

This passed me by, probably the only time outside our management game in the 2000's that United have been on the front cover of a videogame?

And made by Midas who a few years later would sponsor us.

Apparently it's shite.

Did you live in the Park area back in the day then MM? I did until I was 10 then we moved to Gleadless. Went to St John’s primarily on School Street.
Hi GrayBlade,
I also went to St Johns school street until ‘66 (I was 8 then) as we lived in Bard Street flats and then moved to the Wybourn, afterwards I went to the new St Johns on Manor Oaks Rd.

Bloody hell, fastest gun in s24su. Thanks very much your a gem but is that in order 1-4 please, thanks in advance.
Asking Silent Blade what seems at first to be a tricky question is in fact about as tricky as asking him what he had for tea last night. He’s a one-man Blades encyclopaedia.

Nice one, was Miss Tate still there? I ended up at Herdings Junior school and then Hurlfied Sec

Yes.....but mi mam was a dinner woman so no problem. I should have gone to Hurlfield but had sisters at Norfolk so went there. I remember some tasty after school confrontations between Norfolk and Hurlfield......good job it’s not today’s kids otherwise there would be carnage

Yep, the worst that happened back then (apart from a few scraps) was to be taken back to your own bogs and get flushed in front of your peer group. ;)

I once asked Silent Blade a question and he got it wrong. I have it framed and hanging on the wall :)

Miss Tate had retired by then. Miss Dodsworth took her place. A "good friend" of headmaster Mr or more usually Man, Martin, who replaced Mr Smith.

Mr Blake, the gentle Mrs Vaughan, rotten bitch Mrs Wild had all retired. Not knowing what "sexy" was then, the gorgeous Mrs Lester stirred certain feelings in all the boys.
Bob Driscoll took over the final year class before becoming a headmaster elsewhere. There was another nice teacher , a Miss, young, who had the year after Mrs Vaughan, who's name escapes me.

I remember Miss Dodsworth well and yes there was always the rumour of her and man Martin....as kids, we found it quite amusing that ‘older’ people fancied each other. I am struggling to remember (not difficult) Driscoll....I left in 1969.

I
Early 60’s BB, I think it had only just opened.
I was there when it first opened, last year of infants, had to go to holinsend junior/infants for a short while until it opened, we moved to herdings in 1959 one if the first I think, my brother was born in 1949 so will be 70 in June and also went to holinsend before going straight to the juniors at herdings, Mr. Henstock

Me too. Bit of a school merry go round for me. Went to Hollinsend school first, then Constable Road school before moving to Herdings when it opened. Colin Henstock was indeed the Headmaster (non of this Headteacher rubbish in the 1960's) and my last teacher at the school was Leon Chandler.
I had already been to St Steven's infant school on Fawcett Street before we moved onto the Valley so I had four infant schools before I was about six or seven years old.
Oh, and there were 48 of us in my last class at Herdings. Unheard of these days.

What year were you born Eddie I was 1952

Paul North certainly rings a bell, but noot yours (sorry) or the pass twins. Some of the lads in my class were Gary Fletcher, Paul Cottam, Mick Heath, Eric Pashley, John Addy , Robert Munn and Kevin Brown(?). There were girls in the class but for the life of me I'm struggling to remember. Maybe Sharon Horan was one. Girls only came onto the radar once I got out of short trousers.

Eric was a big blade at school, could handle himself, I nay be wrong but did he live in the small boys home? Paul North by the way was in the national news some years ago, he was a coach to female athletes at the institute of sport I think it was, not sure which particular sport it was but he was found guilty of taking advantage of under age girls in his charge, front page of the star, I couldn't believe it when I saw it, a right shock, some other lads were Stephen Cooper,Alan Scott and Alan Bird ,couple of big lads, always played centre half in the school yard just because they were ,er, stout lets say.
