Willie Carlin,Geoff Hurst...is that David Munks with Hurst?View attachment 45983
Went to Blades vs hammers at the lane late sixties, Willie Carlin scrambled up Hurst's back and had his shirt in bits.
No way to treat a bloke who scored a hat trick in a World Cup final.

Is that the Lane ? Can't seem to recall the flats.

Upton Park. FA Cup rules meant West Ham had to wear the away kit

TC leaves another player on his arse.

versus Leeds. Take a pick of seasons - 1964/65 or 1965/66 or 1966/67. Doubt it's 1967/68.

versus Middlesbrough. August 9th 1969. Won 3-0. Start of our second season in the second tier. Gil scoring in the photo on 20 minutes. Woody grabbed a couple on 24 and 73 minutes.

We'd just sacked Arthur Rowley and had players involved in a wage row.

David Wyman writing in on one of the Sundays 'Middlesbrough? The winter looms long and hard. They lack most things - principally ideas - and play as though they have been introduced to each other five minutes before kick off.'

End of the season Middlesbrough finished a point ahead of us.

Love this picture- it tells a story. Woody looks nonchalant, was it his goal? West looking forlorn in net, Joe Royle in the background there. Any idea who the anguished player is with his head in his hands?
Yes it was his goal, a penalty equaliser in the last minute. Dont know the anguished Everton player is. Joe Royle is next to hom

That must be the final goal in the 5-0 thrashing of Blackburn at the start of the 70/71 promotion run-in.

Ted Hemsley’s missed penalty in the same game hit me and my friends on the Kop and we weren’t standing at the front, either.

Conditions were fairly attritional, as the picture shows.
Yes
