Happy memories. I had just started my student days, surrounded by ruggers and rowers. Watched it on TV, in a room full of people taunting me because 'Sheffield' were losing. They must have thought I was a bloody good actor to disguise my sadness so well...Gerry "the trap" Young

A photo I've just pinched off the Sheffield History site on FB. Apparently Walter Brayshaw standing 5th from right. The lady posting is his grandaughter and wondered where it was taken. Any ideas Silent Blade ? Is it even us?
Not heard of Walter Brayshaw so I looked up in the Who's who. He was at Denaby United before joining us in 1919. Played 4 league appearances before joining Exeter in 1920. I dont recognise anyone else in the photo, I am afraid.
Looking at the stand behind that could have been Exeter. I'll ask my Dad who is from that part of Devon, he might recognise it.
Not sure. I've not been in that neck of the woods for donkeys years but it was on that bit of Pitsmoor Road that runs parallel with Barnsley Road and a lot of that is new housing. The last time Bert went past it was still there, wasn't it a Jehovha Witness Kingdom Hall..... ironically?
As far as Bert can see on Google Earth its no longer there. Not sure. I've not been in that neck of the woods for donkeys years but it was on that bit of Pitsmoor Road that runs parallel with Barnsley Road and a lot of that is new housing.
Cheers I'll pass that onRight, I've shown this to my Dad and he's pretty certain that's the recently demolished main stand (railway end) at Exeter.

What year was that? I believe Arundel Gate along with the Hole in the Road was completed in 1968
I’m getting giddy with excitement just looking at that picture. I reckon I could still find the Corgi cars, Scalextric, Britains farm stuff and subbuteo sets nowRedgates View attachment 40352
The hole in the road was opened in 1967. As you can see, clearance work is underway for Arundel Gate so I would think this photo was from about 1965.What year was that? I believe Arundel Gate along with the Hole in the Road was completed in 1968
